Who was that? Nexus?
Works great in MSFS, getting almost double the frames i was before. This has saved me an awful lot of money lol

Nexus didn't buy into DLSS3, therefore as an Ampere user that Nv's planned obsolescence deprived him of the DLSS3 FG lockout on his 3080, he now too has been added into that statistic 'This has saved me an awful lot of money lol' since AMD provided FREE FG, that despite now using AMD FG, he still mocks AMD at every available opportunity on this sub.;);):p:cry:

Edit-Just remembered, it's the second time it's saved him money, I forgot about the time he streamed 4080 FG down the phone!

I haven't bought into any frame gen tech because simply put, there's not enough games that are pushing my 3080 to where I need frame gen, show me more titles like cp 2077 PT and AW 2 and then it'll be a different story at which point, the extra RT grunt of a 4080/4090 will also be required and not just FG tech if I want to get close to maxing out my refresh rate. Like I said all along, it's just like turing and the initial rtx/dlss all over again.

AMDs official fsr 3 games are still poor as evidenced thus not worthwhile, that and being locked to having to use fsr 2 makes it a no go.

The modded FSR 3 is the best version so far and definetly usable but it depends entirely on the game, cp 2077 and ark work best, everything else I've tried has been not worth it.

Roll on 50xx.

Digital foundry says fsr3 still needs work. It's the best implementation yet in Avatar but fsr3 still has uneven stuttery frame pacing

The other thing cool about Avatar is you can force the game to use software RT or hardware RT, any by doing this we get to see how much performance is left on the table when some AMD sponsored games only use software RT (and some game engines as well only use software RT). In Avatar software RT runs 65% slower than hardware accelerated RT with an Nvidia GPU - that's a huge amount of frames left on the table in games that force users to use software RT

Night City really is magic with path tracing and ray reconstruction

Yeah it's stunning. I think your man in the above video summed it up really well when it comes to path tracing, with rasters dated methods, some particular frames/scenes can look really stunning but then the problem is where you move to a different spot or view from a different angle the same scene, that once beautiful scene/frame can fall apart because of raster relying on such archaic methods where as with full ray tracing or path tracing, it doesn't matter what angle or area you view that same scene from as path tracing can't fall over in the same way. Still amazes me there are people who say it doesn't look good :o

This year has definetly been a big step in the RT/PT evolution phase between:

- practically every game (at least most of the well known/popular ones) getting RT treatment to getting more path tracing updates/games
- seeing the first 2 games with no option to turn off RT even on console (well if we ignore metro ee as being the first game for this )
- ray reconstruction which boosts IQ substantially and performs the same or in some cases better

Roll on 2024, the future is #RTXOn

Tbh I have the modders to thank more than amd since I can't/won't use the official fsr 3 due to being locked into using an inferior upscaler (and the implementation of fsr 3 itself still having issues) so partly thanks amd but more so modders and also Nvidia for having frame generation in a substantial amount more games

That's quite a poor take. If AMD didn't make FSR3 or didn't make it open source then you would be straight out of luck. They deserve all the thanks. I expect FSR upscaling to be improved fairly soon too as they focus on better quality now that frame gen has been sorted.
