Looks like James Milner is back off to Villa...

Cannot understand this one at all. Why let some more of our offensive talent go?

That is crazy i would have milner in the newcastle side before solano because he has more pace and is pretty good at beating a player and getting crosses in + he is young and english solano doesnt have that many years left in him in the top flight .

I dont really want viduka because some of the time he doesnt look interested on the + side he is a target man and if you get crosses in the box he could finish them .

Pleased about the rossi loan people at man u rate him highly .

But where is the defender we need or should i say defenders  .

looks bleak mate.

i say we loan Viduka, then maybe see whats on offer in january for strikers and concentrate on bringing in a defender or 2.

Loan viduka, or loan another striker

DONT SELL MILNER :(

Breaking news on SSN

Also a bit of interesting news on the Cole saga, Boro executive has just said that they can't present Huth atm as the deal hasn't been signed as Peter Kenyon is doing some business somewhere else, then saying "you don't need to be a genius to work out where he is now". Maybe there's life in the Cole deals still

I just love August 31st. This has to be a cruel joke. Two of the best young players in the world join the Hammers  Please let united get Reo-Coker as a result and then I will be slightly happy. News conference is at 4 today.

Final day fiasco:
Pole position?
back of the grid

Subject to final confirmation we understand that our final day transfer dealing consists of selling James Milner to Aston Villa for a quoted £5m and using the wedge to fund the purchase of Marc Viduka.

Update: At Middlesbrough's press call for Woodgate early on Thursday afternoon, Smoggy Chief Exec Keith Lamb was adamant that Viduka was not going anywhere.

Interestingly he also confirmed that Huth was yet to put pen to paper as Chelsea were conducting other business. Watch this space.

Newcastle confirmed on Thursday morning that they had given Milner permission to speak with Martin O'Neill's side.

And despite the fact that England U21 midfielder spent last season at Villa Park, we understand he was reluctant to return there - but will leave us.

So much for developing young English talent eh?

RE: Roeder's recent comments about bringing three players in - does the fat Aussie ******* count as two?

We can only refer you to our reference to Milner in the match report from the Villarreal pre-season game:

In the early weeks of this season the England U21 man has shown effort and commitment and what looks like a genuine desire to rebuild his United career on the back of an individually successful season out on loan.

What a shame it would be if an English talent was sacrificed to finance some palm-greasers' deal to sign a bloke who doesn't know Newcastle from Naples or Nijmegen.

Add in Melbourne to that list.

Excellent news for west ham, they've done really well so far and this means they can probably make the step up to really put up a proper assault on the top of the table.

As a Liverpool fan, I have a really strange feeling today......not stressed out wondering what signings are coming in because we're all done and dusted! :D

This doesnt appear to have been mentioned, but my mate says that....

"the owner of corinthians and the own of the players is a major shareholder in west ham"

....so not suprising that west ham ended up sealing the deal.

Yeah apparently they were involved in a failed takeover bid last season...

England press conference I guess

Edit: On Talksport they are saying Man Utd have confirmed there is no press conference at 4pm.
