The Rumour Mill, who do you want/think your club will sign/sell this summer

thats a hilarious price for an average striker

You have to look at what Johnson has, genuine pace both from a standing start and on the go, which is something Everton dont have, and given the average nature of the defenders in the majority of Premiership teams, he is going to have a field day.

There is only Man U and Arsenal who have decent pace at the back, everyone else struggles to defend agaisnt pacy forwards.

Him and Beattie will be a damn good partnership

Beattie being the "Shearer" type with AJ ripping defenders to bits

Could score bucket loads :)

No wonder managers are lookign abroad for player now, 8.5 m for Andy J is ridiculous, the guy doesnt even score that many goals (mainly pens).

Seems AJ is gonna be a blue.....A good English striker is something of a rareity - thats why he's got a £8.5 m Bounty on his head......Personally, I see far more talent than AJ in the lower leagues of the FA, but, this game is a crazy game as far as money is concerned.......Its all very Pete Tong imo.

Lampard to barca?? It's been said before, but this seems like the first time he has spoken about it:

Personally I think it would be exciting for him but bad for chelsea, and would probably take a huge bid to make it worth abramovich's while.

With Ballack arriving at the Bridge, who knows what might happen, suddenly Lampard isn't the big man in Midfield anymore and who knows what Jose's plans are, will Lampard have to sit back and allow Ballack to go forward?

Lampard would be superb at Barca and if he was ever wanting to join them then this would be the season to do so especially if he has a good world cup it might just happen. As for money wise, I think Lampard could be well within Barca's budget and Chelsea are not exactly strapped for cash so if Lampard himself really did want to go then it would happen very easilly.

Maybe Ronaldinhio in the other direction :D (That would be class!)

Usually i would agree that if a player wanted to leave then there is little the club can do, but in the case of Chelsea, like you said there not strapped for cash so if JM doesn't want to sell him then there is no reason for them to let him go. JM said himself about Drogba that he can either play happily or don't play at all. And also why would they want to make one of there main challengers for the CL even stronger.

This is what I'm hoping as well. Plus, while the fee is £8.5m, only £5m or so is up front, the rest is performance related.

One thing Everton have lacked since Tony Cottee left is a true 20 goal a season striker. If we'd had one last year, I've not doubt we'd have pushed very hard for a Uefa Cup spot. If Johnson can score 20+ goals for us (even if 10 of them are from pens), then he'll be worth every penny.

two overrated players, Everton have a decent midfield though

Aye, midfield is probably our strongest area, though I'd still love to see Gravesen back if he could recapture his form of two years ago.

Are you happy about the signing davey. I'm not so sure it's right for us. For 4 million but not 8.5. Its too much money imho. Cotteeeee

Lampard has given Chelsea some great service over the past 3 - 4 years and has really helped the club and Jose in his time at Chelsea, I think if Lampard asked for a transfer it would be granted and I don't think anyone would begrudge him a chance to play in Spain, its not like its another top English team, the fact that it is a foreign team makes a lot of difference.

I think if Lampard really want to go there this season then it could happen very easilly, just depends whether Barca are looking for someone like Lampard and whether they are prepared to spend upward of £25m on him!

He`ll play lampard and Ballack together, with a holding midfielder in front of the defence. Stick one up front with two wingers or 3 up front with Lampard and balack behind.
