Assuming you're UK based, Gigabyte would be the best option due to UK RMA centre and decent customer service.

I've run timespy with the same settings that I used previously on 17.11.3 without any issues. (1727MHz/1200mV, which I only use for benching)
thanks and apologies for the late reply. everything fine elsewhere in the latest driver, i haven't tested the new driver in timepsy but i have been gaming at 1702 without issue at 1080mv, also ran 1740 seeing clocks of 1720+ at 1080mv in superposition without issue. will have to try it again at some point

Look at the size of those rear vent holes! Holy moly batman.

I had the reference version and briefly considered cutting them all out to make one big hole, I'm surprised people don't do it,

if anyone who reads this has cut out all the holes to make one big air vent it'd be interesting to hear how it went and what difference it made if any.

Thanks are you running timespy to bench? I think it's the latest update causing the hard locks. Super position running 1702 at 1080mv no problem.

The latest driver has been a pain for me. Lower performance in Superposition and games. And when I try to run Timespy I get hard locks every time. My only solution was to DDU those drivers and reinstall 17.11 drivers.

i was having similar issues with the 17.11.4, latest seem ok to me. i think i cleaned installed from 3 to 4 and that was the problem, i normally always DDU. ran 1750 in super position at 1080mv no issues saw 1730 in the bench.

So, just received a reply from ********** regarding my Vega 56 RMA;

"Tested in dual and tri screen setups - Unigine Superposition @ 8K resolution render, ran fine - crashes or system hangs - This was run for ~110 hours over the christmas weekend - and was still running fine on Tuesday morning.

Ran Witcher 3 ultra settings on dual and tri-screen setup as well. Ran fine - no crashes over the 3 hours it was run."

They're shipping it back to me for next week.

Backstory; I was getting really weird graphical artifacts on-screen in games like PUBG (Exactly like this user: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0a2yy_IoO8w), Dirty Bomb, ESO, etc. Sometimes tabbing out would cause the graphics driver to crash and reboot; and sometimes I'd get a system freeze. All this running the latest drivers on stock settings. Tried using older drivers to no avail...

When I get it back, I plan on wiping my OS drive and reinstalling everything. Nuke the PC to be sure.

Any ideas? Temps seemed okay. Can't afford a watercooling setup.
