The RX Vega 56 Owners Thread

it's now starting to more frequently show a bunch of vertical stripes of various colours instead of the windows desktop.

I was running GTX 980 SLI on this PSU, can it really not run one Vega 64?
It's hard to say for sure without other equipment to test, but it's not always about the amount of watts, power delivery can vary massively across cards and some more sensitive to voltage spikes, dips, fluctuations etc. According to the reviews your 12v rail isn't stable under heavy load an Vega appears to be sensitive in the PSU department so could indicate so. Try lowering volts on p6 and p7 to around 1080 for further testing. Undervolting may bring stability temporarily. however its still unclear to me if it's a card fault or something else. Your symptoms could be a result of either still a this point.

Yeah, it's annoying not knowing what it is. I'd be annoyed if I got a new PSU only to find it was a faulty card. And a new PSU isn't cheap, I'd be looking at what ~£100 for a Superflower or Seasonic 750W?

I might put the Fury X back in and see if it behaves nicely with that one again.

You could always return under the cooling off period.. but I would get one to donate for a spare rig and have a new one under warranty for peace of mind if you have new equipment thats expensive enough to protect.

I did not, i was just testing to see if i can Keep it or its a lot higher than pulse. Cause i Love this card hos silent it is. Cant hear it att all
only 3 choices are to put up with it, replace it or replace the pads. replacing the pads is really straight forward btw it wont take very long and will significantly drop the vr soc temps, have a search on the forum a few people have done it on here posting results.

edit: not sure if you brought it from ocuk and they actually did this on there older stock. might want to ring them and ask if so

I've had:
290X (fine)
GTX 980 (fine)
Fury X (driver issues)
Fury X (different one) (fine)
Vega 56 (driver issues)

Not sure what's likely wrong with the system that would cause one Fury X not to work but the other one does. Don't even know what to test for if it was something to do with the system.

Did you use Display Driver Uninstaller[ new card option] them install latest AMD drivers?

Can you not borrow a PSU to try so as to rule out your PSU.

One or two Vega reviews also have said "if you have problems try a fresh install" but it might well be your PSU.

Sorry@GoogalyMoogaly^^^^
