The RX Vega 64 Owners Thread

Or.. Just leaving it alone and be happy with it :p

That would mean higher temps & louder fans, The difference between stock & undervolted is big.
These ones?

Mr P's Vega is watercooled so just copying those settings isn't the best way thing to do, A lot will depend on how lucky you were with the silicon lottery, My Red Devil will only go as low as 1100 volts at State 6 & 1120 at state 7 with the core clocks at 1597 & 1692 respectively, The memory voltage is at 1040 and the memory clock's 1080, As for setting up the fan I had it set in a way that gave silent running at load for the most part but I've yet to get my head around the Adrenalin 2019's new fan controls. This is how it looks at the mo.

I didn't spend a few hours last night deep diving this thread, honest.... Hi everyone! :)

Welcome to OCUK. :)

Going by gpu-z it states the max gpu clock is 1630mhz on my sapphire V64, but when running any gpu benchie, the gpu clock never goes above 1570mhz. Does anyone else have this max clock speed when gaming/benching, and if so, do they know why.

It's the best stock version you can buy today. Is it worth £30 more then the Giga Windforce and PC stand alone, and 20 more than the Asus gaming? Yes.

Is it worth returning my gigabyte and getting the sapphire?

Was recommended the giga over the sapphire in another thread because:

i also posted up on another thread about nitro vs windforce .. nirto IS NOT 12 PHASE design, its 7+1, windforce IS ! uses 6+1 with doublers to make 12 as PWM can only handle max of 8 phases, so doubling is used as a cheat method.

I was initially looking at the Giga V64 'cos its the cheapest, but I've seen a coupla reviews on the tube, and the sapphire version wins hands down on voltage stability (apparently) and the cooling is second none, whereas the Giga versh has a poor pcb layout which cause mild overheating and a rather poor cooling solution which can't dissipate the heat sufficiently meaning it runs hotter than ,say, the sapphire versh. So unless you use an aggressive fan curve (ie loud) the card is going to get rather hot and throttling will place and limit clocks and therefore performance.
Please don't take my word for it though, check out the online reviews of both of them.

Thanks for the speedy reply! Does the sapphire require more power? Got a BeQuiet Pure Power 700w Gold coming with new set up, would this be enough?

My card also reports default GPU clock is 1630mhz on my sapphire V64 with GPU-Z.

I just set my card up to run with P6 1592/1100mv P7 1697/1130mv HBM 1100/1000mv and it seems stable enough in games, Runs between 1618 to 1638mhz when bench testing with Unigine Superposition . I can go higher if I like as I do have good airflow to the card.

It just a balance between temps, performance and fan noise. I using the new AMD drives with no problems with a manual fan profile set setup in WattMan

I did. As for the technical evaluation I can't comment, but in reviews the Nitro wins hands down. You basically need liquid cooling or win the silicon lottery to beat it. Oh, and I think the nitro has the cheapest water cooling mod too.

Sounds like that’s what I’m going to be doing!

What CPU/PSU are you running? Is 700w enough?

My rig is currently all still in the shrink wrap...Waiting for my 2600 to arrive plus a few other bits.
I went for a 750w and I'm a touch worried it won't be enough, but it probably will, same goes for 700 I suppose. It all gets a bit finger in the air; I'm just going to test it when I can and go from there.

Take feedback on this, still all sealed and can be returned:

I would think so, but I'd be looking at under volting to reduce power draw so reducing the load on the psu. This really is the only way to go with cards so far as under volting gives really good results, not only cooler and quieter, but the gpu core doesn't throttle 'cos its cooler.

Just gonna give you setting a go.
