The RX Vega 64 Owners Thread

i have a VEGA 64 Nitro+ but i can't get the clock to max out 1630mhz, i only see it go to around 1430mhz. if i up the power limits to 50+ then i see around 1560mhz, whats wrong with this?

They're power limited.

You'd need to undervolt the GPU Vcore to give yourself some headroom.
Or you break the power limits so it can go to 350W for example.

ok but if thats the case then why is it pre clocked to 1630mhz if it can't achieve that at stock?

Think of what you put in the P states in wattman as idealised targets. The real clocks will vary game by game but will always be 50-80mhz away from the target you've inputted.

If you want to hold closer to 1630, give my settings a try: P7 1682mhz/ 1150mv (lock it) & HBM 3 1050mhz/1050mv (lock it) & +50% PL.

have had to dial down my nitro 64 when playing F7 multiplayer, tending to have odd issue crash or game just cutting out , but forza 7 is still very buggy. now at 1690mhz 1080mvs with memory at 1000mhz. but temps at load seem ok, 64oC gpu. hbm 68oC. just seems odd keep geting issues at 1700mhz but temps are fine at that, its running 4k all the trimmings. any ideas

Its something to do with the voltage limit for the core on the bios. It's something like 1.15 for the 64 and 1.25 for the 64 liquid cooled bios. It really needs the extra juice to push 1700, even on the lc bios some v64 still can't hit that.
You are better tweaking the memory more.
Or if you are a hard core fiddler, power table mods

1080mv is low voltage for 4K.

cheers, will have a fiddle and see what happens.

thx
ive tried 1100mvs @1700mhz and its very stable temps peak at 67 degrees gpu and 72 degrees HBM. tried timespy and few online games to check
does that sound ok?

Yeah that's better but the only way to really find out what works best is simply to test it out in games.

Hi,

I have the same waterblock for the nitro+.
How did you managed the RGB connector?
I can't find any adapter which will fitt into my mainboard pins.

Thx a lot
Markus

Yes I used the block with the 2 8pin slot V64 nitro+. Card is the same, it just has the option for the 3rd slot.
Their reference is that needs to be used with Nitro and not other Vega 64. See the opening at the top left?

Here is how I did the back, because last year I had hot spot issues, but people said they improved the design so no need to use the original backplate.

FYI I will stick to Bykski and EK personally, given my current bad experience with Watercool Heatkiller IV and previous bad experience with Alphacool.

Installed AMD 19.7.1 for my RX Vega 64 and I can't find how to control the new Anti Lag feature. Also, the Chill on/off feature is missing. The hotkeys exist but when I try to invoke them for chill/anti lag, nothing happens. Any advice?

The hot keys (at least for anti lag) seem a bit hit and miss for me, easiest seems to be either set them in a game profile in the driver, or bring up the overlay (alt-r default) and set them from there.

Thanks mate for the reply, only just in to reply :)

I do not have the waterblock any more. Sold it 8 months ago as I was using a reference board & cooler since October. (until the EK Predator decided to chew the filter).
Just leave 1 screw near the end of the board (to the right as you see it upside down). Mine was missing few screws, and because I used the original X bracket, uses 4 long ones with the springs and had 4 missing from the backplate.

ALT+R on the game, and activate it from the Experience menu per game bases. iChill is there also under it.
Somehow ALT+L isn't working if there isn't specific game profile.
