Having never played a mmo before I decided to buy this, downloading now. I have absolutely no idea what to expect!

I played the trial and bought the game before i even finished it. It was really cheap on origin (dont need to install origin, just buy it from the store).

What size is the client folder for those playing? Left it on over night as it was pretty slow and the game folders up to 35gb and still downloading another 5! Seems insanely large

Good thing about it is that you dont have to download it again if you want to put it on another HDD or buy the full game.

It's sped up a lot now so don't mind so much. Almost done, can't wait to try it out

Be warned some of the harder quests are nothing like any other mmo. It uses an ingame browser (which you can use as a normal browser) with hints to made up websites that have clues on how to complete some missions.
Great game, i found myself having a lot of fun finding out how the game works. I think i have most of the basics sus now, ive just hit the Blue Moutnains.
I found the newcommer forum on the secret world site to be a very frendly and helpful place.

I just tried to run it for the first time and it crashed my pc. Twice. Steam failed to validate and now looks like it wants to download another 18GB

I guess you bought the full game? I didnt get mine from steam so cant help there. I know sometimes steam says its going to download but either doesnt or doesnt need to.
I heard dx11 can cause a crash or two. Not had any problems with my i3 6780ati setup.

Don't run the game in DX11 actually, does bugger all for the look and halves your performance

If your getting bored of GW2 then TSW is definitely not going to improve your gaming life. The animations are pretty poor and the combat is STO level of terrible

yes I bought the full game. After the second 18gig download and a couple of other downloads it runs now.
