Cheers man, 'Stay True' is actually un-related to DN funnily enough although a lot of people think I must be a huge fan, it's more of a 'stay true to your roots type thing' :)

The tattooist did accuse me of being hardcore when I sat there for 2 hours chewing the fat and not making a peep for the line work. Apart from the area immediately above the elbow and at the top in the delt it was quite painless. I actually find the colouring in worse as its going over fresh wounds to get the shading right. Easy to see how some can keep going back for more and more and more. I now have to decide on colour no 3 before I go back (don't want blue because of the yet to be done wave shading) 2 more sittings to go to get it just so but already love how it just pokes out the bottom of t-shirt sleeves.

PS: the pink flower is still pretty well scabbed so not there yet

Its looking good, I started with a teeny tat and gradually got bigger but compared to yours they are all tiny lol. My biggest is the one on my back... makes me look like a wimp :P but yes.. Very cool, keep us updated :)
 
My wife has a tattoo on the bottom of her back which took 10 hours, she did 2 x 5 hour sessions, hardcore!

I'll see if I can get a photo up later.

I admit I nearly stopped reading as soon as I saw that (chav stamp anyone?) but glad I carried on till the end now. She must have had some bruising after a 5 hour sitting. Wasn't angel wings was it as they have been very popular.

And tks Laylah, will put something up once the work is finished and healed so probably another 4 weeks. Got a nice cheerful Hawaiian design to wrap around lower leg next.

Then a koi dragon blanket for right side of body once I can justify the cost to myself

You may or may not already know this, but a hell of a lot of gay porn stars do have stars in exactly that place, your ex was pretty much spot on. Don't ask me how I know that though :p
 
I'm booked in for my first tattoo in December. 4 hour sitting to (hopefully) complete it. It's a half sleeve+my shoulder. The designs pretty difficult to describe so I'll just have to post pictures up once it's done. I'm SO psyched for it though as I've been wanting one for a long time and now seems like a good time to do it (I'm 24).

Now all I need to do is find a way to tell my mum...

Hello! :)

Well... the big challenge is finding a 'fine line artist' as someone in this thread suggested. Having done a bit of research there are various ways that you can have the characters drawn on as tattoos.

My friend has recommended someone to me, but he gets celtic stuff done most of the time.

My relative is my brother :p lol he's still around to grass me up.

I think I will just go with my name and not the translation, so I think this is:

My question is that... early on in the thread you say that the first (below) is a simplified version of the traditional character (below that) but here you say they mean different things :confused: so I am confused!

I think I will go with that then maybe add a small bell afterwards if the pain doesn't scare me away!
