That was my thought as well, I really couldn't see anything in it.

My feeling is that if someone has to describe what a tattoo is, then it's not a good tattoo.

:confused: Why?
Out of all the reasons possible, for having a tattoo, how should an external viewer be able to decipher "what it is"? Not going to to mention the fact you might not even know the person.

Edit: Or are you talking about text on a tattoo? I really can't see how being able to understand what it is means it's good or not.
 
I don't care about the 'meaning' but if I'm shown a tattoo and I can't work out what it's a picture of, then there's something wrong, it's a bad drawing. Many tattoos are far too complicated and just look like an explosion in an ink factory. Oh, and they probably have a skull in there somewhere as well, that's something I can't understand, why there are so many tattoos with skulls on them.
 
A friend of my boyfriend's had a moustache tattooed on his index finger. Not quite sure why. He was drunk, and on some Caribbean island at the time (he works on a cruise ship). Surprised he didn't catch something!
