The Show Off Your Tattoo Thread

Got mine sorted now, just waiting for date in July-ish.

Getting Hannyas & peonies on the right arm (full sleeve & chest) as per below - so my first sleeve will be very similar in design to the below.

Then later in the year/next year I'm getting a Giant Catfish & Peonies on the other arm/chest.

Going to get both arms done by the same artist & in the same style with Peonies linking the two together - pleased so far, let's hope it turns out good :) - cheers for the advice guys.

Thats some really nice artwork. Where you getting it? Back?

Presume that was directed at me? :p

Nah thinking of having it on my forearm and then at a later date join it up with the piece i have further up my arm, or have it a bit bigger on my ribs...didnt end up going down in the end as ive just bought a new laptop so will have to wait a month or so :(

Yeah it was, just being too lazy to quote lol.

What size is it going to be? It's a bit of a shame having to get it wrapped round the arm as it would look excellent in just a flat space!

Thats awful.

As an employer, there is no way on this Earth that our company would ever give somebody a role looking like that.

What is it you do?

Welcome to the 21st century.

I work in predictive modelling (propensity score matching), statistical analysis & trading analytics's.

We have no dress code where I work & no policy on tattoo's, besides - simply wearing a long sleeve shirt covers the entire thing if I had to.

Maybe you should look for a new employer, one that hires based on skill-set & experience as opposed to if the person has a tattoo or not.

When I start my company, I would ONLY hire interesting looking people. I wouldn't want anyone who discriminates against anyone else.

I've never had a problem with jobs with a full arm length tattoo. In fact, for the career I'm working in at the moment it's a bit of a standard thing to have tats :D

Already have some stuff on my back, and id rather be able to see this one :D

Wouldn't need to wrap it round my arm if its on my forearm really, could sitll be a decent size :)

Hi all,

I'm thinking of getting my first tattoo soon - I live in Bristol and have been looking around at the different local places; the ones that look good are The Tattoo Studio, In The City Tattoo and Broad Street Studio in Bath.

All I would like is the John Bonham 3 ring symbol on my inner wrist (pic below - just the symbol not the border around it etc). Has anyone been to the above studios or any others near that you like? If so would you recommend any of these to me for the design I'd like?

Cheers all,
Tom

It's a pretty basic looking one that you would hope any normal tattoo shop could do. Find a local one to you and then check their website / facebook page for their work.

I think tattoos like the ones elmarko posted are meant as an expression of artistic and modish desire or admiration, whereas the tattoos that an employer might have good cause to avoid are those of the kind received in correctional institutions - you know the type; done in Cell H3 by Crazy Hands with a Biro and a sharpened toothbrush handle in exchange for three cigarettes and a cup-a-soup. Being unable to spot the difference, !Sargent_Mango!, smacks of a lack of clever.

Ooft thats some bruise. Nice artwork there!

it hurt like hell doing it aswell, ive got stuff on the other arm and i cant remember it hurting as bad as this one did. im pleased with how the jesus one came out, i didnt want to go with too much detail on the face as its not a massive tattoo

This is the start of my Buddha themed half sleeve..

Been about 2 months since I've got this and I'm struggling to decide what next to put with it. Lotus flowers, temple, sunlight maybe..not sure!

Very happy with it so far though!

Got more of my SAO tattoo on my leg done, just needs skintones now. Also started a massive A3 size bit on my chest of the Hulk fighting Deadpool. So far out of all the places I've had done ( both elbows and the actual elbow point colored in ) the chest has been the most painful so far.
