The Show Off Your Tattoo Thread

took about 4-5 sittings at round about 4 hours a sitting. i was going to get my elbows done but id got all the images i wanted so i didnt want to just put anything on, might come up with something later on though.

im saving to get a half sleeve design on my left fore arm, jesus on a cross or as i like the old school stuff maybe a pin up and some rose's. still playing with the ideas though but as i also love skulls and day of the dead stuff i might end up with that or another grimm reaper :)

Managed to get in touch with the guy who did this one,

Aiming for that style, but water at the bottom of the arm - working upto rock, to wind then clouds - with Koi in the water at the bottom & a Dragon on the top/chest.

Hopefully I'll be able to get a slot within a reasonable timeframe.

Cheers for the tips folks.

Very Nice! All my tattoos have been black so far, going to be interesting when I finally get my first coloured tattoo!

I like how there is detail but not over detail, what I mean is it seems that when really fine detail is in a tattoo that's when they often go wrong unless it's a exceptional tattooist.

I agree, theres usually (depending on the tattoo) a fine line between too much and too little.

I think mine is quite well done because theres enough detail in the hair, face, clouds and roses. The only problem with the picture I uploaded is that you cannot see the sides, theres a load of shading and stuff :(

Needs moar pictures!

I'm considering my 1st tat on my upper arm. There's a good local studio that charges £65/hour.

Can't afford a huge amount and ideally I'd like a black n grey shaded design.
How many hours would something like this take...?

Maybe I'm limited to a solid colour design like this...

mrs rjk had this done last week.
not mine but thought i would share

Just my opinion, but....do not like!
Garish colours fade out onto white arms, just never looks good imho.

That said, i'm not a fan of bright coloured tatts full stop. Much prefer black/shaded myself.

edit: Joffy, like the dragon tatt with kanji, nice! :)
