The Sony A73/A7R3/A7S3/A9 Thread

I have seen the A73 for sale on Amazon over here for as little as £1770 - I cant see you saving enough out in the East to justify the loss of UK based warranty. When I bought at full retail on release, I could have saved a bit by going grey import, but decided against it.

This said, I would have no problems buying lenses out there.

It's as low as £1,500 in some places though not sure how reputable a few are.

Edit - £1,615 with a site that seems to rate well on Trust Pilot.

Can be bought from Pana Moz for £1530 with 3 year UK warranty. Have dealt with them and they are fantastic.

No definitely not, my 24-105 isn't far off my 24-70 2.8
Good to know I had heard it's as good or better than the 24-70 f4 and the extra reach will be very handy.

After that I want to see about trading my A7R in for an A7III.
My solev subject used to be landscape bit now we have a baby the AF and lag is really letting it down.

I had the side one of those on my A7/3 - but I ended up changing back to the round the neck strap. That was because of my fave lens though (the 24-70 f2.8), as it's quite heavy. With the f4 24-70 on it was just fine tbh.

It's on my 6500 now...but that doesn't get used anything like as much so it works fine.

Not sure that helps tbh. If I was out and about all-day I'd put the full strap on the A7 anyway tbh.

Is there a general camera news thread? Just seen Canon have attempted to do an 'affordable' FF mirrorless, the EOS RP.

Some positives; dual-pixel AF, lens ecosystem and the price (£1300). However they have intentionally gimped it in quite a few areas and whilst the price isn't bad - you have to ask yourself why not hunt around and pay only a few hundred more for the infinitely better A7III?

Also the lenses are twice the cost of the camera, so unless you want non native it's a huge buy in at this stage until the likes of tamron have a crack at some native glass for them.

It does seem a swing and a miss right? No 24p, the battery sounds terrible. I just don't understand it as a product that people will want to buy unless that customer doesn't care but why spend nearly £1.5k if you're not that bothered about features.

The A7II compares well and that can be had for a good price.
Used to love my Canons but I'm glad I went Sony years ago and didn't hold out I'd have been disappointed I think.
