The Tesla Thread

We are going to go to one petrol vehicle (mine) and the missus will have the electric (likely an i3 or equivalent, by the time her PCP agreement ends).

that's my thoughts - missus does 30 miles a day commute. I visit clients 1 or 2 times a week - round trip between 50 and 120 miles. Makes sense to consider an electric car.

I just got my VIN and estimated delivery, 26/08-02/09, P+ with a 02/04/2016 reservation. They are clearly ignoring the reservation order, suspect their priority is more linked to configs and parts availability.

I'm not too fussed after this long TBH, been largely not bugging them about anything and they just keep emailing me to say they've sorted various things, for example they eventually gave me the new price without me asking.

Was that by text or e-mail?

I've had a text stating 12th August - 25th August and just had an e-mail confirming 15th August to 25th.

There have been a few people who have had hidden VINs, received a text confirming the above time slot and then had the VIN removed and have been pushed back to September.

I’m very tempted by a Model 3 Performance. Has anyone here done a business lease/purchase and if so do you mind saying though who and what numbers ? I’m struggling to get any company to reply with a quote !

They're a bit stuck at the minute as Tesla unexpectedly dropped the prices. Give them a week and it should be sorted. Most seem to be using OctopusEV.

Drive Electric

Performance -P (before the recent line up changes) in red, no FSD and over 4 years with 12,000 miles. Just been reduced to £484 pm + VAT

Just had another text updating the delivery date, now expected 5th - 20th August in Birmingham.

Arranged to collect my home charger from their store tomorrow.

Hi All,
For those like me who had a P- on order and now switched to the P+ and maybe doubted the 20" wheels , then don't worry

I had an extensive test drive through speed humps and rough roads around Canary wharf and the P+ performance and ride was no different than my previous 2018 B9 Audi S4. There was no harsh jarring or uncomfortable roar from the tires. In fact the only slight noise was the aircon and the dual motors when I smashed the pedal. It has been great experience especially the speed of deceleration and not using the break pedal at all. if you are in any doubt drive a p+ and you will be very pleasantly surprised :)

I am very happy to have done it and now waiting patiently for the P+ to arrive , unfortunately i have been told by OctopusEV expect late Sept or October my order ends is 3850

Excited for test drive on Sunday - whole family travelling through to Edinburgh now to check it out. Hopefully get away from the city centre a little bit to test drive it.

Which model are you test driving?

Just the standard range plus.....I have to be realistic and we as a family need 2 cars come Nov/Dec as both leases are due up at the same time. Would love to look at the LR/Performance model but needing 2 cars so really just looking to see if this will be the "bigger" family car and wife looking at something like a mini etc

How old are your kids?

I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on the size of it as a family car.

yeah - that's what I'm going to find out - 11 & 8 they are at the moment but I need to see boot size, rear passenger size etc - will get some pictures if I can.

Yeah i'd be really interested to hear some first hand experience of it, we've only got my daughter who's 9 months old so i think it'd be a struggle with her car seat let alone with the pram but i just want one so damn much!

I think you should both be looking at the model x or wait for the model y if family space and growth is a concern, The boot I found smaller than my 2018 Audi A4 saloon .

It'll be amazing and I think the SR+ is a great choice for UK usage TBH. I even used to find my little Renault ZOE good fun and this car is way more powerful, spacious and feature-packed.
