Exactly the same here, got caught up in the hype but think it's too much now.

I'm going for a PS5 instead since there is barely any difference in image quality (especially since all games are console ports now).. will still use the current PC for FPS/strategy games but that's about it.

Plan is to upgrade the PC when the cost is worth it and I'll get 3x console performance so 2022/2023.

Yup I'm in the same mindset now.

The last couple of launches have sucked any enthusiasm I had for PC now. 20 years of PC's and upgrading, but I have lost all desire to upgrade now.

The Nvidia release was a shambles, nothing available, no sign of prices anywhere near MSRP, and months of demand backlog.

AMD Ryzen 5000 release, price increases on predecessor models release price, on top of limited supply, and again very few if any selling for actual MSRP.

I foresee the same for the AMD 6000 GPU release, so any anticipation is gone, just sick of the same crap now.

There are very few games actually keeping my PC current for anymore. I'm done chasing high frame rates and staying on the latest hardware. I'm happy to settle for consoles now.

This, it's just not worth it at the minute.
It's also technically not really worth buying a console for launch either as they are more focused on upgrading older games to run better quality than new games.

I'm years behind on games to be fair. I have game pass for my current One X, and there are lots of games in my queue so to speak. So I'll be working through those on the new Series X, which will tide me over way into middle of next year, if not longer, by which point I'll probably not have even switched the PC on!

The only games I'm using my PC for at the moment, are Hearts of Iron 4 and Stellaris, neither of which require any of the latest hardware to run. The rest of the games are all on game pass.

This is something I'm thinking as well. I have a 3700X and a 5700XT, running on a 165Hz 1440p monitor. In non-competitive gaming all I'm really targeting is a steady 60fps and based on the AC: Valhalla and Cyberpunk 2077 spec requirements I should be able to hit that with my current CPU/GPU combo. I'd only really be buying the 6800XT because of the 'ooh shiny new thing' factor and I don't think that's worth the £300+ it would cost me after selling my 5700XT.

It really worth waiting till you need it. ive waited years on my 980ti and each new generation i think now is not the time. Finally im ready to upgrade and its going to be a huge difference. I am in need of the upgrade and not just wanting it. Just hope i can buy one sooner rather then later.

You'll have to be quick as can see these selling out fast, just like the new CPU's.
