The "Top Gear", Season 24/25/26 thread

Not the best episode to end with, not sure what demographic Rory is trying to gel with but it really doesn't work when he's with Matt and Chris.

Was enjoying the Alpine bit.. until Eddie turned up. *sigh*

If it wasn't £50k, I'd certainly consider one. But... Naaah. Shame. It's a great looking thing and looks like a great back road blaster.

It really is crazy. Honda managed to make the S2000 at reasonable price which is a similar drivers type car. I would say 35k is a more reasonable price.

I wonder if they sell those SUV after TG is done with them. Wouldn't want to be that sucker.

I see the French electronics in the Alpine did what French electronics do :D

Just watched the episode and I thought it was ok all round. I personally like Rory and don't think the producers are being fair to him in excluding him from most road trips. If he was on more then I'm sure we'd see them bonding.

I actually prefer it - I've nothing against Rory as such but with him and Chris it is like having two people in the Richard Hammond spot - still feels like they are missing a 3rd when it is just Matt and Chris but it just doesn't work for me when it is the 3 of them and Chris<>Rory interactions feel too forced.

It was £28k new in 2009 on the last 100 too. But even then a lot were sold for less than that.

Indeed, although that's still almost £36k in today's money (based on the asking price, mind) – for, as you say, a car that was in decline at that point. And that was for a naturally aspirated (and manual) convertible built in comparatively large volumes from a mainstream brand. :)

Rory Rory Rory.......

He needs replacing, guy can’t compete on any level and is starting to just look like a grade A ***

Can't work out if this is scripting or if it's literally that he's a bit out of place compared to the others.

When I went to filming of the previous series, my personal view was that he seemed to get on better with Matt and it was actually Chris that seemed a bit out of place outside of the parts recorded for the episode.

I don't get the hate Rory gets? he's alright, it is the scripting that leaves him out of everything. Blame the producers not the guy.

Eddie on the other hand is useless, what is even the point of that guy.

Probably priced at an “as seen on Top Gear” premium by some chancer before long....

Thoroughly enjoyed it, don’t think Rory gets a fair slice of the pie feature wise but don’t mind him at all.
