The "Top Gear", Season 24/25/26 thread

I don't mind him either. He makes a funny every now and then. But he is by far the least experienced.

LeBlanc is getting better too, but apparently he plans to retire in a couple of years.

I don't get the hate Rory gets? he's alright, it is the scripting that leaves him out of everything. Blame the producers not the guy.

Eddie on the other hand is useless, what is even the point of that guy.

I find Chris Harris a lot harder to watch than Rory.

I liked Chris Harris back when he was on youtube but I struggle to like him on TG.

I find him Arrogant, not sure on him at all
Yeah arrogant is how I'd describe him too.

When Rory did the Japan segment a few weeks back it was clear how overjoyed he was with it all. It seemed natural and I couldn't help feel excited watching it. If Chris Harris had done that segment I would have probably got annoyed with him.

Surely arrogance has been the staple diet of Clarkson fans over the years?

I’m really liking Le Blanc and Harris combo - doesn’t feel like I’m watching geriatrics anymore.

If that doesn't, the 50k+ price tag probably will.

They completely sold out their Premier Edition run, and I believe they've taken pre-orders for the entire first production run of the Legende and Pure editions. So... I guess they're doing okay. They get glowing reviews from pretty much the entire motoring press so it's not that much of a surprise. Also, while the base cost of an A110 and the Cayman S are similar, you've got to remember that - like all Porsches - you probably want to add £10k of options to it, whereas the A110 comes with most of the things you want, so the Cayman (er, not S) is probably a closer comparison in cost.

It was £28k new in 2009 on the last 100 too. But even then a lot were sold for less than that.

The Alpine is a European manufactured car, priced in Euros, the Brexit-effect on the £:€ rate makes a big difference, at 1.60€ to the £, it would be around £37k instead of around £50k.

Just watched the episode and I thought it was ok all round. I personally like Rory and don't think the producers are being fair to him in excluding him from most road trips. If he was on more then I'm sure we'd see them bonding.

Yeah, all of this. Great episode. Probably the strongest of the season, and putting the three together for most of the episode really helped with that. I'm looking forwards to the next season already.

I wonder how much that fire messed with the rally stage?

I’m liking extra gear. Rory works it well and they have some good motorsport guests. Example in the countach was a decent little segment in Ep5

Extra Gear feels like much more Rory's speed - I find it a good filler for when you've half an hour to kill like a commute, etc.

That was imo the best segment that's featured since the new format was implemented. And if you just take the Lamborghini and “Bosozoku style” part of it into consideration, no other past or present host could have made it better. I find his enthusiasm infectious. The Porsche at the end was just an amazing bonus.

Just catching up with this as I'm a bit behind.
Really enjoying the season so far, and the Japan episode was great.
Particularly enjoyed the "Ichiban: Lipstick For Men" joke :D

Le blanc was awful. They were all awful.

It was like watching an amateur dramatics play where all the actors were forced into utterly fake ‘friendship’ and truly awful scripted ‘rivalries’.

Truly cringe worthy horribleness.

I hopjust to god they go on YouTube and look for talent. There is plenty on there.

The guy who presents carwow for starters and the chap who presents car throttle for another.
