The µ43 thread - welcome to the really dark side

do it you wont regret it! Loving my e-m5 II so far. Even with the 40-150 standard zoom. tried a hand held shot through my windscreen at 1/6 sec of a pub sign at night and it was very, very acceptable.

Just got my first prime today, the 45mm f1.8. The 25mm is next on the list :)

Oops just pulled trigger :-)... got a nice deal off Digital Rev

really want a 75mm f1.8. That 25mm prime of yours from reviews has exceptional sharpness in centre, as good as the 75mm. Its the edges qwhich lets it down but stil excellent. The 75mm is exceptional across the whole pic. I saw one review which said its perhaps the sharpest lens across any system!

got to watch it with primes though I think, as before you know it could have got the f2.8 pro telephoto for less money.

I deffo want the 45 though :)

lol ive ordered a 12-40 pro anyway

Im not bothered as the 45mm is sharper plus being f1.8 is useful and its small and light.

It is making me think twice about the 25mm though since its smack in the middle of the pro zoom.

Think ill try the 12-40 first before buying a 25mm but i think a 75mm will be on the cards as unlikely ill buy the pro 40-150 due to cost, weight and size.

45mm can be had for under £100 on ebay if you keep watching. Or with cashback from olympus £139 brand new.

The 45mm is a brilliant lens and for the kind of money it fetches now an absolute bargain, I love mine.

Pushed the em5ii to it's limits the other night, safe to say it's definitely not the right camera for jet powered RC planes with LEDs and Fireworks firing out from all angles. Created some "interesting" effects though.

I think you can get it for brand new with cash back from John Lewis for £119 :)

Thats a steal at that price. Most of them second hand sell for more than that on Ebay!

Hell even mine was £108 inc postage. If i had seen the John Lewis sale I would have just boguht new :(

lol show us please?

I would imagine the focusing was a big issue?

I'll upload a couple of shots when I'm in the home office tomorrow. Yes the focus did not want to play ball, it was pitch black and to be fair I would have struggled even with a DSLR as they are seriously quick (like trying to catch a hummingbird on 10 cans of Red Bull) but you've got to try these things to know what it's capable of.

I was hand-holding some of these shots over crowds so I was impressed with the IS - some very quick edits just to show you guys the em5ii action shots at night :)

Just a heads up. The Olympus 25mm f1.8 is only £189 with cash back on Amazon atm. Bargain. And another prime added to my growing collection. :)
