Oh go on. I'll answer too so you have a full set :)

1. When you press the fire button does the resistance fluctuate? (I assume it will show it on the display)
YiHi chips (SX-Mini, iPV D2 etc) show the live resistance, DNA devices do not.

2.When you lock your resistance does it fluctuate when you press the fire button?
See above

3. When you place a coil or new atomizer on your device does it ask if it is a new coil or same?
Yes, if it's a DNA device, an iStick, Koopor Mini, or Apollo Reliant.

4. At what tolerance does your device not trigger the above event? i.e is it sensitive to resistance changes at 0.1ohm or 0.01ohm.
It's about 20% with DNA devices. A lot less with the Reliant and Koopor.

5. Assuming you followed the correct procedure to place the atomizer on the ecig when they are both normalized at room temp does your device after you have used it for a few minutes and pick it up to vape again ask if your you have placed a new coil? Does detect a change in resistance?
The Apollo Reliant does this every time it comes out of deep sleep. The Invader mini does it every time I pick it up (hence it's now in the bin)

Jut to add to number 5... the Koopor Mini sometimes asks every time and sometimes does not, ive found that its down to the sensitivity of the device and the quality of the atty connection to the 510.
The Lemo 2 and Kanger Subtank Mini are good examples of tanks that can cause this on a sensitive device, in fact the Kanger can cause this on a DNA40...
The Lemo 2, you can tweak to improve its 510 connection, unscrew the airflow base and push out the 510 centre pin, than re insert it from the inside of the airflow base, ive found this made my second Lemo 2 a far better device for temp control than at stock, my first Lemo 2 was fine but did the same trick anyway and its not made it any worse so cant hurt.
You can do the same trick on the Uwell Crown, though i found it made it less stable so dont recommend it for that tank.

you can use mods like the DNA40 that dont officially support TI, just use lower temps, for example, im running a single twisted TI 26awg coil at around 0.14ohms on my DNA40 with the temp limit set to 170c and ive vaped the tank dry without a dry or burnt hit.

Thinking of getting another mod that supports Ti wire (currently using Subox mini and Sigelei 150TC)

Prefer it to use 18650 batteries, any recommendations?

I just got myself Dicodes Dani Extreme and this thing is fantastic. Very small for a tube mod too and if you go for the "M" version (18500 battery) it is flat out tiny!

Here's 3 pictures to give you an idea of it's size. 1st and second one are with 18650 extension cap, how big it is when held and the third one with standard "M" cap. As you can see, with a tank on it, it is almost the same size as Apollo vTube 4.0!:D

Really awesome little device, you can temp control just about any wire on it and the ones you can't, there is this mode called overheat protection mode, which sort of simulates temp control by periodically dropping the voltage to reduce the overheat chance:).

Anyone tried the new Smok X Cube 2 firmware , supposed to now check the resistance on the coil and tell you if you are running it too high , and it now goes up to 180w although max i have ever tried is 100 on the tri and that was way too hot.
Tried the TF-T2 Airl 1.5ohm coils , these are my new favourites at 30w , great taste and not as cloudy as the tris and quads.

Thanks, I think for reliable tc the sxj or dna chips are the best. The joytech one is junk.

According to PBusardo's DNA200 review, and he's the guy that actually tests the outputs etc.. the DNA200 is the most accurate temp control device due to its ability to import the Actual TCR curve where as other chips, inc the YIHI, just use a baseline and follow a linear line from it

How much relevance this has and if we can actually tell the difference is anyone guess, but i know the vape i get from my DNA200 is better than on my DNA40 and Anything would be better than the vape i got off the Penny...

Tonights juice in my freshly wicked Armomamizer... Jimmy The Juice - SHURB... its rather nice at 55w :)

I have decided that the Cthulhu v2 is a piece of junk.
I have made this decision after it dumped half a tank of juice down my clean-on suit trousers after I filled it.
Did you close the airflow ring when filling Rilot? Yes I did.
Did you close the juice control ring while filling Rilot? No I did not because the damn thing has such fine knurling and is so stiff it's impossible to tighten up without taking the tank apart.
With the difficulty of wicking it properly and the fact that I have many other tanks that either don't leak, aren't a pain to build on, and work right every time, it now goes in the drawer of discarded vaping gear.

Well you we're all right about the Aromamizer.

Dual twisted 26 gauge Ti, 4/5 wraps over 2.5mm coming in at 0.076ohms, and its incredible. Using the 2 hole band at the moment

Well I've been out and about to some stores in Houston.

I got the same story about DNA200 mods in every store, hard to come by, order online as no one wants potential non moving stock in a store front.

So determined not to leave empty handed I got my self another d2, a silver one with a white sleeve :D

Well the Wismec will be my heavy duty mod for home. IPV4S will be my out and about mod. The EVIC will be used to laugh at (which actually means I'll just post it to my brother to use in VW mode). I've been using the OBS Crius today and it's very nice, not leaked once from the rims or airflow ring unlike the Billow v2 which has a habit of doing that.

It is an amazing tank, i run mine fully open and just love the smooth vape from the dual twisted coils... never was 100% happy with temp control, ni200 was a pita, the dna40 gave a weak vape, but this tank and a dna200... spot on.

I've never liked Ni200.

I tried to coil the Lemo2 3/4 times it hot legged and popped the coil every time so I gave up, then started using Ti.

My only complaint so far with the Aromamizer is the fact I had a small amount of leaking through the Air holes with it laying down on the bed, but I think I managed to pour some juice down the chimney when filling it with a wide tipped bottle

What's the benefit of twisting ti wires together?

- easier to coil?
- lower resistance?
- more surface area?

that's all I can think of but how do you enter it in steam wire calc to work out an overall resistance?

100% agree , did not like the flavour change with NI200 as well.
Been watching PB's reviews on DNA200 & tried some of his ideas on TC.
My dual twisted Ti build in the TFV4 is now run @ 110w preheat(8.2 for 1 second) , 400 f & 100w power.Temp quickly reaches 400f & then let DNA200 do its thing.Power does drop to high 60,s @ the end of inhale but the average power is high 70's to mid 80's.Result is a real nice warm vape , very dense thick vapour which helps the taste of the Death by Bunny really pop.

The resistance is not a real concern as DNA200 will fire pretty much anything.I just did about 1 metre of twisted , made a coil & tested resistance on my test rig. From this i worked out what the pitch of twist was(for me about .6mm) by putting figures into the steam engine until it gave me the results i got from test rig.
