You dont even need a drill, I get one piece of wire and loop it so the two ends meet, all you need is something to hold the two ends of the wire together and a bar or rod of some sort to put in the loop at the other end, apply tension and start turning the loop till the wire breaks, job done.
I use a coil master v3 and kuro coiler to do mine, the V3 has two wire holes in it which is perfect to run the two ends through, then i hand twist those two ends to stop the wire pulling out of the holes, put the handle between my knees and the put the handle from the kuro into the loop, pull until tight and pinch the wire close to the handle and then start spinning the kuro handle... takes me less than a minute to wind enough wire to do two coils worth.
