Took the cotton out and gave it a glowin' to get rid of any excess cotton and juice. Looking a little rusty actually, likely just congealed raspberry
I'm using Kanthal claptoned, 0.2mm (32AWG) around 0.5mm (24 AWG). 3.5mm ID, so I'm going to use about a thumb of cotton. Excuse my tiny girly thumbs:
All teased apart to be rolled - forgot to mention, take the two 'waxy' outer layers off the cotton, I find the fluffier inner part wicks better:
Rolled and threaded through, perfect fit!
First trimming, the edge of the base is a good place to start:
Fluffed out a bit, doesn't work as well with the scottish roll, but if you just keep fluffing it eventually comes apart:
Shakycam here, I trimmed a little more off the bottom of the wick to avoid blocking the juice channels:
Juiced and tie-fighter'd
Twisting the barrel on causes the cotton to move a bit:
So jam something in there (I use my graduated steel coil winding rod, nice little tool), tease it back and forth a little bit so the cotton is even along the juice well, I push the cotton in towards the coil where the juice well is, then poke the top and sides a bit to make sure the well is covered. I've found as long there are no direct air pathways between that juice well and your airflow, you won't get a leak.
Voila, chain vaping a charm, and no leakage! 'Twas a bit of a shoddy job, not my neatest, and I probably put the maximum amount of wick I personally could in there, slightly more could have been dry hit city, but it's coping with 70% VG no probs. Hope this helps!
