Whats the inner Diameter of the coils and what gauge wire did you use, can you push the coils closer to the posts?

Deck is pretty small but if you build coils with 2mm internal diameter should be fine.Have quad twisted 30 gauge(kanthal) in mine & enough room but does take some time to get it right.Only use about 5 or 6 turns , anymore & it gets real difficult to wick properly.

sorry missed this but I used 26 guage ti on 2.5mm bit. There's no room on the deck at all width wise, so will try 2mm later in the week or will try thinner guage Ti (I think I bought some)

Also I have been dry burning my Ti just so that it gets a dull red glow, I hope that is okay as there is no way you can prevent or check hotspots without doing it.

How do people check for hotspots without dryburning?

I use the 304SS TFR from steam engine, seams to work spot on, as for not being able to change TCR from the mod, Evolv decided to go with giving you the ability to load a different TFR to each profile and the TFR curve is far more accurate for temp control than just typing in a set figure like the Yihi and other china chips or the DNA40 was.
Yes it is a pain you have to do it via escribe, but once added, its simple to change profiles.

Yeah, now I'm messing with it more I see why they did it this way.
I've created a profile for each of my most used atties. Makes swapping them out a doddle compared to other devices where it's attach atty -> lock resistance -> enter menu -> Set wire type -> set temperature -> set power -> vape.
With this I just attach atty -> call up correct profile (named after the atty) -> vape.

Loving it.

I do space coils and so far only ever had one coil give me a hot leg, i could taste it and see the mod throttling when i know it should take the power easily, even doing the dry cotton test at 220c as i know my Rayon wont burn at that temp, i could see the leg glow a dull red.

Mate of mine went to pre order the Wismec DNA200 from Cigreen today after i told him about the deal, seams the discount code nolonger works so he emailed them and has been told the first batch of mods is sold out and that the second batch is not due till mid November. Small quantity.

Im praying i made the first batch... sods law i wont lol

Fingers crossed for you mate. Hoing it isn't long until we see the uk pre orders.

I'm fancying a new tank, not sure what but I fancy firing up sketchup and trying to mock up a model for a tank. Nothing seems to offer what I want, wonder how much it would cost to have a prototype knocked up!

Dull red glow"should" be fine according to quite a few articles i have read but up to you in the end.
If you used spaced coils the chance of hot spots should be minimal , i fire my setups with wicks & plenty of liquid on before i put them into atty.Does not eliminate problems but you can see if you have a major hot leg .

Had a bit of an experiment with my first DNA200 build, dual Titanium in the aromamizer, though didn't used spaced coils, used a coil master jig to get a nice tight coil - 8/7 per coil, quick pulse at 6w in the dark to see a dull red glow in the middle, wicked it up, so far so good, came out at 0.14ohm, just getting my head around escribe etc... now, got the Titanium profile uploaded and in use, TC working very well, love how it shows real time wattage and temp, really need to sit for a few hours and get everything figured out nicely though :)

You can spend hours in escribe just messing with the screen layout and images lol.
There are loads of images in a thread on the evolv forum and there is a facebook group too.. though ive made all mine myself, plus a few for requests on the evolv forum.

The device monitor is really amazing , to be able to see what even small changes makes to your vape is very interesting.Even how i wick makes a huge difference to my vape & you can see it all in real time.If i wick really lightly(almost to the point of flooding) i get a much warmer vape , if i wick with the wicks quite tight then i get a cooler vape.

I find the best way to wick for a mix of heat and longish pulls without throttling even at 55w... i put the rayon through the coils very tight, but then thin down the tails and fluff them up before placing them where i want them, that way the juice travels quicker to the coils to keep them wet.

As a test, i wicked my Uwell Crown this way and was able to hit it at 50w without throttling but it leaked when filling, then i removed the wick and re did it with thinner wick and longer tails and now i get throttling even at 35w... and the flavour is reduced a good bit too.

I'll have a look at the weekend when I get time to have a real muck about with it :)

Closed Ti coils - so far - very poor vape, flavour is weak and the vape unsatisfying. Will change out for spaced at work tomorrow.

I only tried contact TI coils once, and had a similar experience, hits temp limit much faster so you get a less enjoyable vape, ive been sticking with spaced since, plus spaced is quicker and less hastle.

To twist wire, all you need it 2 pens, cut a piece twice the length you want.
Bend in half and twist the two ends together by hand, tight, put a pen in each end of the loop you have just created, sit on your knees and hold one pen between your knees, then pull tight on the other pen and start to turn it while keeping the tension... simples.

Is anyone UK-based using one of those subscription services like VapeMail?
Are they any good?

£35 for 200ml, which would normally be a good £120 at the local B&M, certainly sounds a good way to try different fluids...

My plan is to drill a series of holes in an 8mm round bar, thread wire through (2 layered holes would twist 4 strands or single hole for 2 strand. Twist ends and clamp how you like, shove round bar in battery drill at low speed, should give a nice even twist - I hope.

E: tried it out with a single hole, results are sublime, really tight even twist throughout, takes about 15 seconds to do 30cm :)

I'll post some pics up of the finished wire tonight - only used kanthal 29awg I think and just some generic wire I have in the workshop no idea of its composition or size though looks around 25-26 gauge.

I know its not what yas recommended..but I'm simple and like things easy...a bit overwhelmed by the size though and playing about with different voltage.

Had to change the tip[..the one that comes with it it like sucking on an exhaust pipe!

Can tell I wont be filling it every half day though!

Looking to order some more wire having got my aromamizer today. (Damn being at work!)

For these coils what gauge wire do people use? I will be using titanium. (I assume people use dual coils?)

Normal dual coil
Twisted dual coil

Always wanted to try a fused Clapton coil, any recommendations?

I do have 24(0.4mm) and 26(0.5mm) gauge.
