Have you turned the juice control all the way open? As in screwing it onto the mod/box, then turning the atty the same direction a few more turns to open the juice?

Is the wick touching the deck where the holes are? How much wick?

What VG% is the juice?
 
yep juice control is all the way open even stuck a screw driver in the hole to try tighten it open as much as possible, tried having the tank screwed down half way onto the deck in hope that more juice flows out of the tank to the deck and it didn't work,

tried different air flow settings, and iv tried all amounts of wick, from absolutely stuffing all the deck with cotton, to having as little as you would have with silica.

tried different ohms coils from 1ohm up to 2.5ohm with 30g kanthal, and its 80%pg 20% vg.

same results each time, when I wet the coil, get a nice vape first few times, then after that, its like its wicking half and half, its half dry hit half vape.

its driving me nutts a bit

and when I take a drag, I get the like after burning sound of a coil when I release the power for half a second like its burning still cause theres not enough liquid getting to the coil to cool it down.

quite ironic really yesterday my first coil flooded, and now I cant even get it to flood.
 
just re wicked the coil, to me this looks perfect does it not? its 30g kanthal, 2mm drill bit, 9 wraps, 1.7ohms

same situation again first few drags, perfect. then after, dry hits. :(

may i ask how many turns your air flow is open from being fully screwed in tight?

Ok, iv just been playing with my mutant x for the first time since my first attempt yesterday failed.

I used a 2mm drill bit, 30g kanthal 9 wraps each coil 0.8ohms it reads at.
and i looked at pictures on the net and they are stuffed with cotton, so iv done the same, not tightly stuffed in though just nice and gentle

tried vaping, same as yesterday hardly any result at all, no clouds no nothing coming from my mouth, but then, i flipped the mutant X like outter shell upside down so all the air holes are aligned up with the coils.

HOOOOOOOOOLEYYYYYYY MOLEYYYYYYYYYYY, Iv NEVER seen as much vapour come from my mouth before in my life. im in SHOCK. im only at 12w outta 20w and JESUS WEPT!!! iv just filled the room in fog in about 3 blasts. i didn't think a dripper was going to be so much different from a tank, Christ all mighty, i think iv just wasted money on kayfuns and stuff, should have just got one of these from the start.

the only thing with the outter shell being flipped upside down, is that i cant adjust the air flow, but its the only way for it to work at all for some reason on mine, might just be a bad clone or something? because the outter shell is quite loose, so iv added a thicker O ring to try keep it more sturdy.

I use cotton in mine, insert the cotton in the coil, cut it level with the sides of the v4, hold the cotton up vertical, screw on the chimney then gently pack the cotton back down onto the deck inside the screw on chimney section, then juice up the cotton, screw the v4 back together.

Lock the juice control then fill up from the top, screw on the top piece that takes the drip tip then unlock the juice control fully wait for a few air bubbles to travel upwards then start vaping.

My coil is about 2 mm above the central airhole in the deck as well.

I tried that method also, it didn't make any difference, when i filled it up, no air bubbles travel upwards, its as if its not willing to let juice through even though iv put the chimney section on, covered air holes, and blown through and the channels are 100% clear for juice to come through, its just not happening and i cant figure out why
 
the mutant x that i was talking about a min ago, having the outter shell upside down so that air holes are next to coils, and that you cant adjust air flow now, well iv fixed that, just used insulation tape

Like I said mate, raise the coils up closer to the height of the posts :) That way, you won't have to do stuff like that and you'll also stand less chance of leaking as right now, you have the airholes right on or below the bottom edge.

Also, make sure there's a gap underneath the coil.
 
alrighty pal :) ill try next time i make a coil raising them higher than they are now and try it with the outter shell the correct way up, but for now its working great.

The clouds are hugggggggggggeeeeeeeeeee, only thing is, the flavour isn't half as good as my protank2 mini, no idea why though, but its more of a how do you say, a flavourless but thick cloud, even from my 80% pg 20 vg juice.

Also, throat hit isn't half of what i get from my protank2 mini, probably because theres so much cloud?

but any tips on how to get more flavour from it?
 
It depends on the airflow you've set and raising the coils may also help by effectively reducing the chamber slightly and allowing more air to get under the coil.

Fwiw, I get plenty of flavour from my MX v2, but it's a different build and I'm putting more power through it.
 
haha damn, i cant imagine how big the clouds are with more power and higher coils etc, iv just got a *******ing from the missus about how smokey the house is vaping this, and shes a vaper her self, it looks like theres smog in here.

With a dripper how do you know when it needs more juice? like do you vape it till the flavour changes then drip more? iv been just dripping every two vapes just to be sure its not getting dry

also, by any chance may i see a picture of your coils etc? :) thanks
 
You get a feel for knowing how many pulls you can take and you can also start to taste the difference when it's getting close.

I'll see about getting a pic up later :) I warn you though, these coils have been on there for a week or two and I pushed them over a bit the other day so they're not as clean and neat as they could be :D
 
Haha its fine, get them dry burned and re wicked lazy sod! :p

just left my mutant x soaking whilst I had a shower, soaking in my eliquid that is, just took a pull and woosh, the throat hits there now and flavour. I must have just got used to it by chain vaping it before.
 
Just placed an order for Digby's Mums custard and also The king. Shall see what they are like. Really enjoy Custard vapes. I have Mrs Lords and im impressed with that one. Any other good reasonably priced custards anyone recommend.

Been vaping some juice form Vaping King, Monkey Jizz, Queens Custard & Kings Ring.(Banana, strawberry & Vanilla Doughnut)

If you like custards based flavour you will love those 3 ;)

Also tried some Apple Pie & custard too very nice.
