Yet another clapton build, this time in a Velocity bottom fed clone on my VTC Mini Squonker, currently hitting it at the max 75w:

Nicely done :)

I see FT have ud alien wire spools up now for a couple of quid, be worth a punt me thinks :)

Need to curb the spending now, last month I've bought 6 drippers and 3 mechs :o

Tried a quick dual build in my Snapdragon, it definitely can't be a rushedd build so I stuck another single it in.

However a single 1ohm coil makes for a really nice vape

I know the feeling, I have a couple of bits I need to move on too, but for what any of its worth I really can't be bothered

Im in the same boat, between the two squonker mods and 2 VW mods, 4 tanks and three drippers, ive spent plenty already and its only just february, as for old kit... ive managed to sell a tank, an RDA and three mods to friends at my local B&M and still have plenty of old kit left but its not worth selling online due to shipping costs :(

Recieved a 10ML Sample of Cuttwoods - Unicorn Milk Clone from Flavourboss, At the moment it just tastes of Capella Vanilla Custard, Guess it will benefit from steeping but apprently the premade one's are "Fully steeped"

What are you using to get to 1ohm on single coil? Just wondering what you use that suits the small air hole.

You'll be unhappy to hear that mine is a sausage.

Order a couple of derringers last night from FT for a few quid that will go nicely with the mini volt, luckily managed to get in there just before the holiday (confirmed as shipped just now). One of them is the 'v2', which is a 4-post design instead of 3 which may make building a bit easier on the little thing. Quite annoyed that I traded off my 2 previous derringers. Also picked up some funky zippo lighter style 30ml juice holders, very gimmicky but they look cool!

Bit the bullet and ordered a Wismec rx200, 3 battery's and 2 more reels of different size clapton (i had to file down the grubs on Aromiser deck to get it to fit).
Im looking at getting another RBA dual coil deck Dual post), top filling, 5ml or above tank any one got any suggestions?

Edit: didn't read properly.

iirc the aromamizer 6ml is about the only 5ml+ velocity deck rta out, the rest are 3-4ml.

For 5ml plus and a dual post deck for Claptons, has to be the Aromamizer.. if you can go slightly less capacity then the Griffin or Cruis are better flavour tanks.

Only places for Sausages is on a plate :p

Single coil 7 wraps of 26awg Kanthal over 3mm.

I pretty much only use 26 and 28 gauge now unless I'm sticking a build in my Indestructible RDA

VCMT by Vaperz Cloud 25mm has 6+ ml.
The 30mm version has 10+ml but is gigantic.

Well, made a neater coil, actually bothered to dig out me drill bits and 2.5 is a nicer size than my big green screwdriver.

Came out 0.38 ohms, so a little less than my previous coil but more of the coil is actually contacting nicely. Currently going well at 27.5, although always tastes funny on the first tank, guess i really should wash it in the ultrasonic before vaping but i'm rather impatient.

I tend to find the first few pulls can taste funny, i thought it was the titanium but i get it sometimes with SS, so that leaves the wick... Rayon...

Must be, once its been through a tank it settles down. Last coil was ok at clouds but not so much flavour, hopefully this'll run better, my test juice is 70vg and is as heavy as i run in a tank so if it can chain vape that with nice clouds im hoping flavour is good too once its bedded in.

I thought it might have beeb dry firing the kanthal, but this time i washed the coil before wicking, next time i'll wick before washing and see what that does.

Any tips for reviving gunked heads? I've been using milton in an ultrasonic and the occasional boiling water bath but there always seems to be limited results, im hoping if i can get good at building i'll be able to swap out wicks and dry burn the gunk off the wire to help keep a coil going longer

If this is on the Subtank RBA, to get better flavour without the hassle of making a clapton, do a twisted wire coil, 2x 26awg twisted tight together, about 4-5 wraps tops, slightly spaced, should do nicely, thats what i usually do as making twisted wire is quick and easy to do for the results.

Fair enough, i've only got 0.6 and 0.25, but from previous a triple/quad build i know that comes out quite nicely diameter wise, might give it another go with my newfound wicking skills, although i'll probably stick with this current one for a while.

Washed out this new one and stuck it in the subtank plus with some cloud beard, bad flavours gone and its doing really well now, i think i can safely say this is the first coil i've made that i'd call better than the stock ones, looking forward to draining it tomorrow (but not then being on a stock head in the mini)

I want to get my drill back i think before i try my hand at the twisted again, too much hassle manually turning a dremel chuck with no power, although might try a clapton for a laugh, can use the dremel chuck on the vice to hold one end and stretch it straight against the drill.

I sense a ni200 spending spree in the not too distant future.....

Bought a Crius £16 from Gearbest seems a bit of a no brainer for that price, will get the 6ml conversion kit for the aromiser aswell.

To make twisted wires i just use the Coil Master Coiler V3, it has two sets of wire holes, so i cut a long enough length of wire, put the two ends through the two holes and twist the ends together to stop it pulling back out, then get on my knees and grip the coiler between the knees, then put a bar in the loop at the other end, pull tight by gripping the wire to the bar and then spinning the bar with the fingers on my other hand, takes me seconds to do.

If you dont have a coiler, you can use two pens.

I'm currently using a dremel chuck in the extension on a vice, loop the wire with loose ends in the chuck, hold the end with a screwdriver to keep tension and twist the chuck by hand (1500rpm doesnt sound good for twisting lol).

If i can get good tension can get a really nice twist, but im thinking a drill would be a massive boost to the speed of the process, and useful for trying a clapton (using the dremel chuck as a "fishing swivel" so i'll have another play once i can get it back (lent it to a mate who tbf has more use for it than me).

I've got the second rba that came with the plus, but i think its a v1 as it has tiny tiny juice holes in the very bottom so i'll just use the base to make the coil on then move it to the v2.

I'm thinking my previous twisted builds were just poorly wicked, now i'm getting the hang of this hopefully it'll work better with proper amounts of cotton.

Dude - I've got a brand new unused 6ml top cap here (I exclusively use the 3ml top cap, I got both with the last one I ordered), if you fancy a quick trade of them just let me know. It's of course genuine.
