So I haven't been in here for ages!

Looking for a no nonsense quick and easy Sub ohm tank for those times when I cba to rebuild like holidays etc..

So, whats the 'go to' sub ohm tank these days? I've got a couple of Kanger ST's but they're not really doing it for me, any alternatives?

Freemax Stare I've seen mentioned a few, any others? TFV4? Uwell Crown?

TA! :)

The new Aspire Cleito seems to be getting rave reviews, and it's pretty damn cheap too!

Hearing good things about the Joyetech Cubis if it's any help dude!

Any pointers on a semi decent kit that includes the battery and tank etc to get me going? Am I right in thinking a sub ohm coil is the way to go and what's the score with changing coils?
Possibly...
But SubOhming can be a bit OTT if you're not into big clouds and huge flavour vapes, while burning through loads of juice... Vaping direct-to-lung is also very different from smoking a cig, which is why it doesn't work for everyone.

You might find a simple variable-wattage vape more to your liking, too, so don't discount those just yet. They're also usually smaller in the pocket!

I have several SubOhm tanks and mods, as well as a dripper, most of which are in daily use... but I always have my little Curve 20w (aka the eLeaf iStick), with a Nautilus Mini tank, which I use in parallel with the big boys. Non-Sub tanks are usually better for mouth-to-lung drags, which helps massively in replacing the ol' cigarettes.

Changing coils - Assuming you know what these are, you generally change them when you start to lose vapour/flavour, find yourself turning the mod up much higher to get the same vape, or if you have burnt the wick.
How often depends on your usage - A NonSub coil generally lasts me a good couple of weeks, while Subs are usually good for about a month.

The Crown and TFV4 are seemingly all about the clouds... but from a bit of willy-waving, I've found the Cleito often has the TF beat on both cloud and on flavour, while the Crown guys respectfully CBA to get into a peeing contest!!

Cleito is easy, top filling and proper good. Top cap gets a touch warm for some people's tastes, as well as really drinking the juice. Kinda hard to keep the settings low, too.

Cubis (aka Corsair) is less vapour, more flavour, according to a bunch of users and the staff at my local B&M.
They're mostly still struggling to decide which they like best between Cleito and Cubis, but those who have chosen all went Cleito.

So Scoobie dave where do you think most stores get their stock from?
I assume you mean online stores?
My local B&M definitely get theirs direct from the Mfrs reps. The Joyetech one never gives them enough mods in the good colours!!

Cheers for the replies chaps. Should have said that flavour is more important than clouds to be honest, will deffo look at both the Cubis and the Cleito.

:)

The Cubis is a poor direct-lung tank IMO. I have one and the airflow is very restrictive. It's a good MTL tank though. Flavour is very good on it but it's too restrictive to be a comfortable direct-lung.

hey guys, been a while hope everyone is good.

Using my rx200 and toot at the moment with some ss317l wire. 0.4ohms at 40w with temp control at 200c. Seems however that I get nowhere near that when I vape? The custom settings I have on the RX200 is 0094? is this right? People suggest it's coefficient is 0.00094, would this mean I would have to set it up as 0009 in the custom panel? (it only has 4 digits)

For 317L on he RX200, 0094 is correct.
Not hitting the TC limit is fine as long as you are getting the kind of vape you want, if not, turn up the watts. The TC Limit is a safety guard, not a target.

Anyone tried the Smok Clapton Coil TF-CLP2 .

Was just about to place an order on Fasttech for some Q4's but noticed that since last time i ordered some they have added several other coils.

TF-T3
TF-Q4
TF-N2 & Air
TF-T2 & TF-T2 Air
TF-Ti
TF-S6
TF-CLP2

Yes, currently using the clapton head with One Shot Rocket Man. Pretty good. Doesn't quite drink the liquid like the quad coil head :p

I have the TF-CLP2 on my Smok TFV4 Mini at the moment and I like it, although I am probably the wrong person to ask as I've only just got the thing and haven't done sub-ohm direct to lung before. I'm glad I made the switch though!

As there is a choice of 8 coils for this tank I'm a little confused about what to order. Is there a handy guide somewhere that explains in newbie-friendly terms what each one does? All the websites telling me it's a "patented kanthal clapton nickel plated steel 0.25ohm ni200 tc direct airflow coil" mean absolutely nothing to me! I need plain English! ie;

Coil 1: More clouds, uses more juice, less flavour, recommend 60w
Coil 2: Less clouds, uses less juice, more flavour, recommend 40w
Coil 3: TC, big clouds, uses average amount of juice, good flavour, recommend 200C

Something like that. Is that even a thing in the ecig community yet?

Doesn't the Smok website give you most of that info?

Flavour will be dependent on juice I find. Some taste better at higher watts/temps, some at lower. The taste can change through the ranges as well so its all about finding that sweet spot that works for you. All part of the vaping fun!

There have been a few attempts, but since the big part is flavour and that's a very subjective thing, you can only approximate.

TBH, this is one of the main reasons I'm not interested in a TFV4 - It's cost me a fortune just to try all teh different coils and decide which one(s) worked for me.
The other reason is how many of my vapey friends did buy it and found the top-fill caught and popped open in their pockets, spewing the contents all over the place...!!!
