The basic concept has remained the same. People have turned it into a expensive hobby instead of a less expensive and less harmful nrt. Don't fall into the trap/hype and carry a mini suitcase around. Vaping has definitely gone backwards to some degree but it is safer if you don't buy knock off batteries and chargers. I'm sure others will recommend an aio kit as I have no intention keeping up with the latest gimmick.

Agreed... so many times an item gets hyped up and everyone buys it. It only takes one person to say it's rubblish and explains the reason for it to quickly fall from grace.

I don't mind speading £100s of pounds on an device, I just do my homework well before hand. I don't mind speading in the mass market on £30-£50 devices, just to have a play at something different but the last few hype trains have been VERY disappointing.

unfortunately that's the way the vaping market works. If you don't get it straight away, it's a pain to get it new and your hunting the 2nd hand market looking for it. This is applied to both the high end and mass market.

Many shops only do one order of a product for resale and many mod makers only do a few lists before people lose intrest and move on to something else.

DIY'ers.

I understand DarkStar will be lowering their price of VG/PG base to be more in-line with the other vendors.

5L of VG for £9.99 will be too good to pass up!

Darrant Chemicals (http://darrantchemicals.co.uk) is also popping up quite a bit recently, good prices also.

Finally got an SS316L build to play nice on the rx200, a pair of parallel 8 wrap 26awg 3mm coils (so 16 or so wraps on each side?). Reads out and locked at 0.16, 90w 430f it hits like a champ, no jumps to power mode, just need to tweak the TCR as its maybe 30f or so out, all in all pretty good :)

My stainless Clapton spools should be here soon too, been at Heathrow since Monday :D

Seen the Cuboid Mini? Built in LiPo (2400mAh) 80w.
I thought this was lies, until I looked on the Joyetech website...

Why do FT say they have they removed the safety stickers and stuff, though?

is it safe to just buy the 1 battery ie samsung q30 and whack it in and charge it in the device basically using it like a normal built in battery then bin it after say 4 or 5 months and replace it ?
Yeah, it's safe... it'll likely take an age to charge up, though. That's why most people end up getting dedicated chargers.

Agreed... so many times an item gets hyped up and everyone buys it. It only takes one person to say it's rubblish and explains the reason for it to quickly fall from grace.
Totally Wicked customers are terrible for that - Gushing fan-boys, some of whom even buy several of each new tank or mod, one in every different colour...!!

It's kinda sad seeing someone come out with a single new feature, followed by every company doing one with just that same one feature added in, rinse, repeat.
I keep an eye on stuff and struggle to refrain from buying something just because it looks cool... but so far I have kept it reasonable. I only have five mods (3 in daily use), seven tanks (only 2 in any kind of use) and one dripper.

Now, if only eJuice would either calm down, or stop trying to create a hundred different kinds of the same sickly-sweet fruit-flavours and focus on something decent...!

I'm amazed people actually buy from TW after the ukvapers fiasco.... Guess new vapers don't know about the history there.
Got a link, or a basic synopsis?
I'm aware of a massive thread about something, but don't feel inclined to trawl 70+ pages...

FT remove the TW stickers so TW cant trace where FT got the stock from and block FT from selling TW kit below RRP.
I understand it's more that UKVB (or whatever the 'partnership' calls themselves) have exclusivity/monopoly/dictatorship over online sales in the UK - This is why my local B&M's own website cannot even advertise that they stock Joyetech products, according to them.

I do find a lot of the TW fans to be simpering, sycophantic idiots with too much money, though... and the logo is just stupid!!

Jeezy...!!!!!!
I knew the peeps on TW's on forum were pretty draconian, but that's just insane... and laughably impossible, surely?

As is, you can't post a video of Jaybo himself talking about his *own product* which TW themselves are advertising and reselling (due to their lovely partnership with Wismec), because Jaybo's channel features mere mention (or even a background poster) of some company's product that TW do not get a cut from...

But that attitude is Totally BS!!

Please tell me it wasn't enforced?
That's right up the same street as ViP wittering that you should only buy their products, because they're the best and everyone else is poor quality, because they say so.... yeah.

I work saturdays in a Totally Wicked shop, and I got my mum a job in the week, so between us we run it. It's an odd setup, TW pay for the shop design and setup, but it isn't a franchise, so we have some degree of autonomy. I hate the prices (both the RRP and what we pay!), and the rebranding, but it does simplify things by having a single consistent supplier that's going to be TPD compliant.

We're pretty honest at our shop too, I'll tell people what the rebrands are, we won't stock something unless it's reliable (no iStick 50Ws, no ego ones, none of their 'Odyssey' range), I'll listen to what people want, not what we make a good margin on, and I'll tell a customer if what they already have is better than what we've got. Reputation trumps one-off sales.

For a lot of people it just works, they aren't interested in the newest kit, they just want their liquid and a pack of coils, so a cloudy vapebro shop can be a bit intimidating. The alternative here is a shady shop that also sells tobacco and legal highs, and frequently sells customers tanks he doesn't stock the coils for so they end up coming to us. I do feel hugely guilty when someone comes in and buys our RX200 for £80(!!) though.

The best part about it though is the older people, those in their 60, 70, 80s that can't or don't want to do the research on vaping. All our liquids are free from nasties, so when a little old lady comes in after being informed by her doctor she needs to quit smoking, it feels good to send her away with a kit that's going to improve her health and save her money, from a shop with friendly staff who'll always help her out if any problems arise.

And we've finally started getting some decent rebuildables in, not rebranded, at less-insane prices, which is nice. There's a couple of customers coming in on saturday who I'm gonna build for and walk through the Griffin :D

I have to say though I haven't noticed any TW fanboys, unless that's just on the forums, which are a hellhole of misinformation and morons.

Tbh, I don't even leave my batteries in regulated mods overnight etc. Dunno if it's a step too far but I wouldn't live it down burning the house down :p Plus no smoke alarm upstairs due to my vaping setting it off

WOW
It's a bit over the top IMO.

Whenever i hear of vaping kit exploding, it's usually because:-
faulty/cheap/cloned kit bought from the market
or
not using the correct gear to charge it
or
people just being stupid.

FWIW, I run a dual 18650 parallel unregulated, un-protected mosfet mod.
I vape @ 0.2ohms on a dual coil RDA.

I leave my batteries in my mod overnight, I leave other batteries on charge all the time in the Efest Luc V4.

The only time I, or my house, has ever been in any danger was when I was stupid and didn't check I was putting the battery in my mod correctly.
The polarity was reversed, the battery heated up pretty damn quickly but I was able to remove the battery and place it out a metal container outside in the back yard just incase bad times happened.
After 15mins the battery had cooled down and I am still using now.

If your kit is decent, your batteries are decent and you're not an idiot then you have more chance of winning the lottery than burning your house down.

I hate the prices (both the RRP and what we pay!), and the rebranding, but it does simplify things by having a single consistent supplier that's going to be TPD compliant.
Yeah, the rebranding really is complete BS, too...
The world knows this as the Cuboid, but we're going to call it the Corsa in our own little TW reich here and ban anyone from calling it the Cuboid, because it's OUR world and OUR name... shut up and pay up....

Yeah...

The TPD was another weird one - They seemed very disinterested in having other people with a vested vaping interest actually supporting them and helping the fight. It was very much a "WE're fighting this, WE're gonna be the heroes of the vaping world, WE do not need your voice in this...".

For a lot of people it just works, they aren't interested in the newest kit, they just want their liquid and a pack of coils, so a cloudy vapebro shop can be a bit intimidating.
I really like our local - They'll ask about what you're after and tell you what they have that fits, but will just as readily recommend something from online that they don't offer, from mods to liquids and beyond.

The alternative here is a shady shop that also sells tobacco and legal highs, and frequently sells customers tanks he doesn't stock the coils for so they end up coming to us.
Yeah, we got one of them, too... Serves customers through a hatch in the back wall, probably has a 20-gauge (Airsoft, of course) under the desk and it takes a good few shouts before his eyes open enough to realise he has a customer in the real live world.

it feels good to send her away with a kit that's going to improve her health and save her money, from a shop with friendly staff who'll always help her out if any problems arise.
That's gotta be good!!
I'm glad you get some autonomy and really do wish you well in your endeavours.

And we've finally started getting some decent rebuildables in, not rebranded, at less-insane prices, which is nice.
I have noticed TW doing more 'other brands' stuff and leaving them alone, especially the JayBo/Wismec side of things. Maybe they've twigged that they are reputed to be as much of a devil as their "It's not a devil, honest" childish stoner logo... and it seems a number of their former forumites also took umbrage with the stoner image of their branding.
I buy Joyetech or even TECC wherever I can!

I have to say though I haven't noticed any TW fanboys, unless that's just on the forums, which are a hellhole of misinformation and morons.
It's mainly them, yeah.
Couple of the forum Admins themselves just churn out info without even reading the OP's question or paying attention to which device they have. Their answer to many problems is too often just 'buy a new one and see if that works', while the mods spend most of their time leaping on every slight posting infraction.

TBH, from just that bad-mouthing of them I just did, I fully expect them to be watching and to ban me from their forum within the hour! :D

When I smoked I stuck to one brand even though there were dozens to chose from, so I try and do the same with eliquid also. I understand the excitement with trying out new flavours as vaping is more about taste and people can get the dreaded vapers tongue therefore it's good to try out another flavour but when there are hundreds of custard flavours out there I had to draw the line as things can spiral out of control.

I make regular ss coils, none of that clapton nonesense, use organic cotton and that's as complex as vaping gets for me. My attys wick great, I get great flavour and don't spend time looking at software to set up my ecig.

I still wish there was a Stash liquid Lushington and Golden Rd clone, there is just something about American eliquids that make them taste better but shipping and potential import taxes makes it expensive.

Likewise, although that was driven by price and taste alone.

I'm less so, mainly because many are just very slight twists on the same old flavours, most of which I know I hate anyway!

That said, I have just ordered one of everything from Chuff Stuff - Unusually, they all sounded great and some are pretty unique, too. Heather was also lovely and very quick at responding to emails, incidentally.
Based on the sample one I got in my VapeMail sub, this is gonna be great!!

End of the day, though, the one driver is an ADV in a device that does what I'm usually in the mood for, be it MTL, DTL, clouds or whatever.

Pic of the new setup, because this thread needs more pics. :)

Asmodius Minikin 120W + Smok TFV4 Mini, currently running the supplied Clapton coil at 50W and enjoying the extra cloud and flavour. Completely different league to the Subtank/Sigeli Mini 30W I've been using for the last 9 months or so.

I do like the look of those Minikin's - nice setup you have there!

The iJoy Tornado RDTA has perked my interest, check the 6 post deck!

There's the Boreas RTA and the Alleria both my augvape that has velocity style decks that will suit you tank cloud chasers to the ground.. heard good things about both, but I'm not using any tanks at the moment and when I do, it's on mesh.

Cthulhu v3 anyone...

http://www.cthulhumod.com/cthulhu-rta-v3/

26mm tank, looks a bit like the v2 had a baby with a crius :D

Interested, especially as Cthulhu pricing is usually pretty good, though won't be a day one buy after my issues with my first v2.

The 24-26mm tank population is growing well, need to see more mods of holding them flush.

Have one from me.

More or less all I need. The SquapeR and VG Mini Nano are my two day to day setups, with the Snapdragon coming out in the evening.
