I want a tornado tank after a lot of reading, I don't smoke too heavily normally only a few a day and at work which I enjoy.

Bearing this in mind is it worth me getting the full tornado kit or will I be ok with the compact kit at half the price?

thanks

Depends really, for the occasional use, the titan is great and compact, but having the extra battery life of the tornado is certainly handy. The tank is what makes it so hassle free. Personally, I think it's worth getting the tornado, but if you only plan on using it a few times a day the titan would get you by. With the 30% off everything sale though, it's not hard to justify the extra expense :D

I would say £10-£12 a week spend on tobacco so one of these kits should eventually pay for itself, I'd imagine I could totally cut the fags out with one of these simply because I don't smoke heavily as it is.

Are you referring to the Tornado Tank Compact Kit that TW are offering?

If you're using it to completely replace fags, then trust me: you don't want to be without a fully-charged spare battery when your current one runs out.

If there were ever a vaper's mantra - apart from "oh my god, why didn't I find out about this sooner?!" - it's "always have a backup" :)

Yea the compact on tw but as is I smoke very little couple of 10 packs a week.

After 10/15 years of smoking all sorts I'm ready to give this a go.

Going to go with the tornado tank starter kit from totallywicked-eliquid.

I'm confused with buying additional flavours. I understand various strength of tobacco comes with it. But if I was to swap flavours, what additional items will I need to buy? It comes with 5 x Pre-filled Tank Atomised Cartridges so do I buy empty versions of these cartridges plus the juices or something else?

I'm a total noob to how all of this works so any help to get me started and settle on the flavours would be appreciated.

You buy the theTornado Tank EMPTY TANK CARTRIDGES - CLEAR

Make sure you get the normal ones and not the MEGA ones as they will only fit the MEGA atomisiers.

Occasionally you will need to buy new atomisiers as well depending on how heavy a smoker/vapor you are.

Then buy whatever juices you want (or buy flavours and unflavoured juice and make up your own)

I found the fag flavoured ones not to be to my liking. They weren't horrible but nothing like a fag tastes (which is good I suppose).

I was lead to believe these ones don't have memories? There is a micro circuit to stop them fully discharging I read because that can kill them. I've yet to have one die on me and some of them are almost a year old.

You might have got a bad one? I've not had to use it but I believe TW are fairly good with returns. Let us know how it goes. I wonder if your usb port (if you weren't using a mains adapter) might be underpowered?

The mains charge takes ages because it is for the older type and just has an adapter to fit the newer ones. The old type would be damaged taking as high a charge as the newer ones can take.

OK. Got an update so people can see what TW customer service is like.

I tested the battery in my mains charger and it seemed to charge ok - but ive yet to fully test the battery. So that test indicated that the USB charger was at fault (but not conclusive). I also tested a new battery in the USB charger and that gave the same 'flicking from green/red then going solid red after a few minutes' fault.

Phoned up TW number on my recept and they have said they will send me a new USB charger and for me to chuck my old one. Ive got a conformation email saying the order has gone through.
So 10/10 so far. I still have to test the battery tonight to make sure that isnt as fault as well.

The ones that come with the kit can be refilled too. You don't really need spares at this stage. Having said that they are cheap (well they are just a bit of moulded plastic after all) and it is nice to have a few if you want to change flavour a lot. You'll also need to buy some Juice. I like the Black label for tobacco and mostly stick to the Decadent Vapour for other flavours.

It is a good idea to always have spare atomisers. Nothing worse than running out or having to use one that is hardly wicking or the coil isn't working well on.
For everyone talking about it paying for itself, while this can be true there is still up keep costs for Juice and atomisers. The atomisers can really cost you if you are a heavy user.

Good advice and this is true that there are running costs such as atomisers which even if you are a really heavy smoker you shouldn't go through more than 2 a month at a fiver each plus your juice cost.

I spend £300 a month on fags and if I can replace that with £80 of atomisiers and juice per month I will be over the moon and £220 saved plus healthier lungs and no stall smoke smell.

Remember if you're a heavy smoker it's super cheap to mix your own up with flavourless nicotine liquid bought in bulk and then just adding flavours.

Can get it super super strong and cheap from China if you're happy to wait for delivery

Saying that, I've been using the same low res tank atty since 10th of may and it seems to be going strong, even compared to my much less used and more recently purchased backup (which I use for sweet flavours, apple atm).

Totalling all my purchases from TW in that last 3 and a half months (including the 510 stuff I don't use anymore) it comes to £130. I spent roughly £60/m on tobacco, as a conservative estimate, smoking 15 rollies a day. That means in total I've saved £210-£130= £80 and I still have supplies to last another month. So realistically it isn't as amazing as my new sig might imply, but it's still nearly half the price, I feel healthier, I can smoke anywhere I like, and my gf doesn't complain that I stink... as much anyway :p

I agree with you Devrij. I just like to let people know the facts. Atomisers seem to vary a lot. Some last forever and others only a week or two. I found 510 atomisers last longer but I ain't keen on them as you have to top up all the time or drip to get a good vape imo.
