No issue at all - I'm not having a dig :p

It's great that you're off the analogs which is a positive step in the right direction. If I did have a concern it would that one could potentially lose sight of the goal of being nicotine free and calmly slip in to vaping on a perm basis.

For me I gave up for 12 weeks from march, relapsed for 2 weeks and am now once again smokefree coming up to 5 days - Currently getting my nicotine fix via both patches and microtabs but am going to try a more rapid detox this time.

I'm not gonna tell anyone what to do with their own bodies, and if being free of addictions is your goal then rock on, but I think a lot of people are quite happy to vape on a permanent basis. I know I always started smoking again because I never really wanted to quit beyond the health reasons. Vaping means I never face temptation because as far as I'm concerned I'm not missing anything, and virtually all the negatives are removed so I'm guilt free! I have no intention of quitting vaping. I gave up the drink drugs and smokes, a man needs a vice! :p

How often do you guys need to replace your atomisers and other parts? Obviously it's a subjective matter, but even if everyone varies wildly I'll hopefully be able to work out how often I need to buy another. (I plan on keeping a spare at all times, then immediately buying a new one when I need to switch.)

Pretty much how I feel about the vaping thing.
One thing I have noticed in the short time I've been smoke free, is my sense if smell is starting to recover. I think ill need to move to a fruit or vanilla flavor as the "lambert and butler" juice I have is starting to taste really rank.

My game plan ay the moment is to switch to a non tobacco flavor and then start dropping the nicitine dosage down.

It's really weird I don't have any intention of smoking ever again.. something I could not have conceived two weekday ago.

What device do you have? I doubt it's anything to do with the PG as that can take weeks to appear and has all sorts of other symptoms. Sounds more likely that the fluid isn't wicking correctly to me, which can happen with Tornado Tanks sometimes (I have a few like that).

Yeah I'm using the Tornado Tank. Is there anything I can do to remedy the situation?

When you vape does it taste burnt at all? If so maybe you need to try some of the things I listed in an earlier post about tanks not wicking properly (twist the tank around a bit to see if the flap of plastic is blocking the wick, dry hit it a few times to draw fluid into the wick, etc). Might be worth a shot, or maybe you don't get on with the PG content as others have suggested, in which case a VG juice might be more your style.

The feeling is mutual dude and I have nothing against vapers, in fact I would rather see you vape than smoke :D

My only interest is with people using this as a path towards nicotine freedom. Here I'm not too convinced and moreover am a little dubious of companies claiming that this is a quit aid. A substitute yes .... a quit aid I would say no as it's too akin to real smoking.

Of course you have no desire of smoking ever again - You're getting a new cleaner nicotine hit :)

But place yourself in the situation where you can't access your e-cig for a couple of days. You'll be running down to the buy a pack of smokes in no time at all

I have no immediate desire to "quit" I'd just rather be without cigarettes, the health concerns (I'm not saying vaping is 100% safe, it's new and the risks are unknown) , the smell, the cost and being a pariah in public places. I enjoy the habit ;)

yeah i would like to know how long they last...

I enjoy the habit too - In fact when I relapsed a couple of weeks back the first thing I did was to try and find a large supermarket stocking some disposable e-cigs but they didn't have any so I smoked 14 fags straight in 12 hours having not smoked for 12 weeks  No regrets really as I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I guess I'm just searching for the holy grail of not being dependent on anything whether it be patches, gum, cigs or e-cigs.

It's all in the head, literally. I've been a smoker for almost as long than not, nearly half my life. I find this most depressing. While I'd love to be nicotine addiction free, this is a state I have tried and failed at many times. Vaping is a step in the right direction, I'm going to try mixing my own liquids after I get home from 12th holiday (its a time where people here like to burn stuff, loot shops and riot so I'm off for a few days) and reduce the dosage over time.

This isn't something I'm in a rush to do atm, just really pleased that I am not smoking

everything in moderation.......... including moderation!

well at the end of my first day im pleased with 'vaping' my cheapo nucig has been fine, i smoked as agreeded a normal cig with my morning cofffee and i will have one in a second before bed. I can honestly say that i have not struggled at all. went i felt the need or thought to have a cig, i puffed and i was happy. again tomorrow i will do the same. morning cig and bed time cig, will repeat and then tackle the weekend as and when it comes.

every other time i quit or cut down i lost it and felt depressed bored and moody, today i feel like im getting somewhere.

Good man ;)

Personally for me, right now I'm looking for a substitute. After trying everything else bar champix, I will have to echo some of the other sentiments here. No matter how topped up I was with nicotine I always ended up missing the hand action, the smoke... you guys all know what happens to a pen in those conditions.

Even if I can cut down from 20 a day to just 2 with vaping in between I will be happy with my purchase. £7.20ish per day on B&H makes vaping value for money. If I can cut cigs completely my next steps would then be to reduce the nicotine levels slowly. Incidentally, is there anyone here/know anyone who was successful at quitting and then stopping vaping altogether?

Swi1ch that was useful info on nicotine strengths, I have decided on the tornado tank, along with extra cartridges and a 5 pack of decadent vapours...having trouble deciding on the flavours though.

don't think to far ahead it can be depressing thinking as a smoker "i will never have another cig again" its enough to put you off before you start. Give it a go mate, i was a heary smoker and would do about 30 rollies a day, and always have one on the go even if it was just to have a few puffs. i would also get moody if i went out and walked the dog and forgot to bring my cigs, i was fine today with the vape..

if you get a kit and go from 20 cigs to even half that then your a winner all round, im well happy with my 2 today and playing 5aside footy i had plenty of juice in the tank for once have had no cigs for almost 12 hours i was full of beans!

The people that totally quit don't post about vaping afterwards I wouldn't think so unless you know them it is unlikely many of us have come across people that have totally quit. I know of a lot of people that now vape 0 nicotine juice. I think I'd be able to stop altogether if I got down that low.

Most people lower the amount of nicotine over time without even really trying. You just want less normally. This is sometimes not about less nicotine overall but you like vaping so much that you need less per ml of juice not to over vape.

if i ever did truly quit, i would like to think if i did take it up again i would take up vaping, as many of us have quit and then we return to fags, i thinking if i did totally break free and i had a relapse it would be to vaping. but thats all a long way off for now.

Thanks for your help. It definitely doesn't taste burnt as far as I can tell. I've done all you suggested and the vapour definitely tastes a little different; hopefully it's done the trick.

As I'm still pretty new to this I don't really want to buy mixing ingredients. Are there any recommendations on where to get this VG juice pre-mixed in the UK?

http://www.liberty-flights.co.uk/ Seem to have the best VG range out of the well known retailers. I haven't used them myself so can't say what their quality is like or what their flavours taste like. They are a pretty trusted seller thou from reading vaping forums.
