Where do you get your distilled water from? I could get it from work, but not sure if its made from decent drinking water.

Distilled water by its every nature is pure water. It is made by breaking it down into gas then reforming into water. It might be contaminated after so might be worth boiling it to kill most bacteria. You don't have to be too worried about bacteria in ecigs because the heat of the coil is enough to kill anything.

Most people use deionised water because it is easier to get a hold of. The main issue is heavy elements forming a scale on your coil like in a kettle.

Most strawberry flavours taste the same to me. I tend to think the basic flavour is the same. Steeping does take the harshness and chemically taste out of some juices so might be worth waiting and trying it again.

Received the Smok RSST today ;)

4 Wraps .2 Kanthol gave 2.2-2.3 ohms.

4Volts on the Evic and it felt a bit restrictive, so I drilled the air hole to 1.5mm and it vapes like a champ. Great throat hit, bags of flavour and loads of vapour.

The quality is a not on par with the Aga as it is made from cheaper materials, but it doesn't leave the PV top heavy.

Glad you like it. It sits very nice on my Vamo and is still vaping like a good un'.

I think that's it for a while now on my collection.

I've got 2 x 18650 Panasonic NCR18650PD 2900mah batteries which last me three days each on my Vamo so I barely use my Vision Spinner any more.

The RSST is getting all the attention at the moment, but my MAGA and AGA S are little crackers as well. I'll do a rotation on them when the liquid runs out in the RSST.

I use a needle and syringe to pull out the nic juice to 1.5ml. I'm wondering if the amount that is held in the needle (which is quite thick) might be putting me up to above 8mg strength. Maybe also when XO liquid is made they might skimp on the nic a bit? But that's an unfounded accusation!

The amount in the needle can change the ratio noticeably I've found if you don't take it into account. In order to find out how much, use water and draw in an amount, say 3ml, then turn the syringe upside down and draw in air until the water is at the top of the syringe and the needle is empty. Then check where the liquid goes down to. If its, say, 3.2ml you know the needle holds 0.2 ml. In this case, if you wanted to draw 2ml of nic liquid, you should just draw it to the 1.8ml line.

Its not a problem for larger amounts but I make this adjustment for any syringe <5ml.

I hunted around my area for distilled though no one seems to stock it anymore. I could find it on ebay etc though the posted was stupid money.
I didn't want to be defeated :D so I make my own now, I simply boil the kettle with the lid off and collect the steam in a cold pyrex jug for a few seconds. Get about .5ml each time.
Been working for me, though someone will probably tell me now that is not true distilled water.

I saw a few vids on how to make distilled water, all looked like a ball ache to me. But if im going to be using more VG its something ill have to look into. Not sure I want to go down the alcohol route.

I've started to remove the needle before I empty the syringe into the mixture bottle.

my vision ego and ry4 arrived today, and i have to say its fantastic! tastes like maple syrup!

What holding a a glass bowl or jug over a kettle for a few seconds?

Good tip with the needle holding extra, no wonder when I have mixed small batches, 10ml or less, it tasted higher mg nicotine. :)

Received some GVC today and I can't see what the fuss is about. It tastes the same as the Capella Vanilla I made, although Grants is a lot more orange, whilst mine is a light yellow.

:) There are lots of different versions of RY4 out there, some sweet some not. I like the ones with a soft vanilla and caramel intro and an ashy tobacco exhale. Hard to find though!

No, not a ball ache the way you do it. The videos I've seen don't do it quite like that, there's ice and lids and more ice involved. I'm thinking about cost as well, boiling a kettle or a pan on the hob would likely cost a lot more to create the same amount I could buy. I did appreciate your idea though, its all food for thought and got me thinking... I still have a baby bottle steamer stashed away somewhere, im thinking of using that. I could put an upturned cup inside and set it going, I remember the lid leaking vaporised water all over the counter when I used to take it off.

I'd guess the reason is nobody hardly used Capella until they started trying to copy Grants. He paved the way I'd say and people have come up with copies. At least that is what I've gathered from mixing threads on vaping forums.

I wouldn't say that people have even copied, when standard flavourings are on par with his. I've been given a few secret Vanilla recipes to try out, but I need to buy some stuff to mix it together which is time consuming hence why I went back to off the shelf stuff.

I was expecting GVC it to be a taste sensation but was kinda disappointed. Anyway T-Juice will start making concentrates soon too which should be a step up as it is made from real extracts like their ejuices.

Also maybe the dripper I'm using isn't giving me the flavour I expected, so once I finish of Blueberry in the Smok I'll fill it with GVC.

I'm guessing my understanding of the science is wrong could you explain a bit more than 'lol no'?

Distillation is the process of separating a mixture based on the point at which the mixture's constituents vaporise.

When water evaporates, it doesn't take minerals and other particles along with it, they get left behind in the heating pot. When this gas is cooled, you are left with pure (or purer) liquid water. The distillation process can be repeated to increase purity, eg Smirnoff Vodka is triple distilled.

Therefore, although your explanation was crude, you do have the right idea Crowort.

I'm not sure what aardvark is laughing at or disagreeing with. Maybe he can enlighten us both :p

just being picky!
using the words 'breaking down into gas' and 'reforming' made it sound like you were chemically breaking and reforming the water - it was late and i had a few drinks, sorry!

anyway, distilled water is purer (not really a word) than deionised.

Finally my RSST (ac9 clone) arrived from germany, only took 7 days, never again lol also placed another order for my DIY mixing kit from a place called leisureliquids.com so hopefully this one will go smoothly and i can get my vanilla custard recipe on the go - also bought some apple and cherry and blackcurrent flavours to add into the background of the custard to give it a different taste, so that might work no idea though.
