Well I had my first night out last night with my SD keyring. Very impressed all things considered. It lasted all night and I was happily puffing away on it for about 6 hours. Still some power / juice left in it this afternoon.

I am now a happy ex-smoking vaper. :D

im still quite noob.

i have this kit, but bored with what i have. any mods or must have addons?

http://www.ecigwizard.com/shop/en/ego-tank/124-ego-tank-starter-kit.html

Thinking of taking the plunge and buying that.

I've read some of the now very long thread. So regular vapers please help:

About me:

Light smoker, typically won't smoke every day but if I do I'll go for golden virginia rollies. No more than a few a day.

Main reason for purchase: weekends- I smoke a lot more on weekends, perhaps going to ten or fifteen per night out. Sometimes a few more. I would feel more comfortable vaping on the weekends and in general.

I gather it's quite similar to a shisha type smoke?

I don't really mind too much about funky flavours. But would really like a similar/identical taste to golden virginia and a flavour such as strawberry. Strength wise I'd take about golden virginia strength or the equivalent of between a camel light and that. Say 10/12mg? I like a lot of smoke and quite enjoy a 'throaty smoke'.

I would be willing to splash out a little at first.

So guys, with all that in mind could you recommend me something that would suit? Would really appreciate some help as I'm keen to get involved with vaping as soon as possible.

Thanks all. :)

The kit that's linked there is pretty decent for starting out. I now use smok mega dual coil cartomisers (linked earlier on this page) with the same ego t batteries.

As far as flavours go, I found I like savoury flavours more than sweet ones, coffee is a good one if you want something strong, and there are a good few tobacco ones out there. I find the most realistic ones taste horrible, but the ones that taste like unsmoked tobacco smells are quite nice (red label tobacco is good for that). Strength wise, you'll have to work that out yourself and can take a couple weeks to find your balance, but 11 to 18mg are both good starting points.

Guys, i'm at a bit of a loss as to whether i should purchase my first Ecig or not. Now i'm not a heavy heavy smoker but i do get through about 6-10 cigs a day, and i can get through 10 in 3 hours or so when drinking.

My concern is that i'm thinking, is it best to just quit the cigs and not touch anything else ever again? or shall i move over to Ecigs? I've tried quitting before and i was pretty successful lasting 6months lol The problem is, i like a drink and i like the fags to go with that drink. For ages i have quite happily smoked 10 fags on a drinking night then not touched any until the next time i drink. I'm now finding myself wanting fags on non drinking days so i'm now an everyday smoker.

My concern is that i don't want to be hooked on Ecigs for ever and because it's nowhere near as harmful as normal cigs, there won't be as much worry about the health risks so i'll carry on and not want to quit Ecigs.

Are Ecigs the ramp down to eventually quitting or is it best to just quit nicotine for ever? It sound a dumb question but i don't know how else i can put the question across. I find myself relapsing on the fags when i drink, and i enjoy a drink too much to stop smoking fags. The last time i quit, i had strong urges to smoke. I'm just scared that i'll be hooked on Ecigs for ever if i did get one.

Better hooked on ecigs than repeatedly relapsing to cigarettes when you drink, no?

The decision's entirely yours, but I'd say go with the Ecig and limit yourself to only using it at those moments of critical weakness, such as when boozing.

The flavouring has diketones in it, which is what's also found in cigs.

Yes, it's way better than smoking, but it's still not good for you. I posted an article that reports on research earlier (a long time ago) in this thread.

I bought some Echomisers from Vape Escape recently along with 30ml of their energy cow e-liquid. I just can't get these echomisers to work properly, it constantly tastes like nothing and has a disgusting harsh taste to them. I've been a smoker for some years now and these are making me choke.

Can anyone think of anything I'm doing wrong at all?

Thanks.

To anyone wanting to quit cigarettes for forever, i wouldn't recommend vaping as an aid. As E-cigs are'nt a cessation product. They're a replacement for cigarettes, so it's kind of like changing your brand of cigarette to something less harmful.

I reckon anyone who's vaping now, would end up back on the cigarettes if vaping supplies became non existent. I know i would.

Having said that, I've not had a cigarette for over 2 years, and never want to. So long as I can use e-cigarettes, as for me, it's enjoyable in a way smoking never was. But Vaping is still very addictive, probably more so than smoking is (due to the enjoying it factor)

Have to say, I bought a lava mod battery holder (very cheap provari clone) and using it with my buli A2-T has been a joy..
Thats me sorted, haven't been looking at new equipment for a while now..

i read in the metro last week a battery blew up and knocked someones teeth out as well as mangling there face eeeeeeeeek

I read this too.

As far as I know, there's been 3 reported cases of similar happening...and in each of those cases, the cause was stacked batteries.

This report in the Metro has sparse details, still waiting for the full report as to what exactly blew up and how. I'd be amazed if it were anything other than stacked batteries causing this.

Good response by the ECF to that here.

Sounds nasty, but seriously -- a stacked tube mod with no venting or safety features? Sounds like he was essentially holding a potential pipe bomb to his gob.

excuse my nobbish, but what is a stacked battery?

It's when you use 2 batteries, one on top the other, stacked, inside an E-cig mod.

This will give you more power than if using one standard battery.

If you want more power from your E-cig it's much wiser to just buy a variable voltage mod.

Mixing your own juice is a brilliant way to quit. Gradually reducing the nicotine content was simply marvellous for me. I switched to vaping in June last year, and by september I was vaping with no nicotine. Very quickly I found my self just forgetting to vape. It's very hard to describe it other than that. It just never occurred to me to vape/smoke after that. During the early days/weeks I had cravings, but having vapour - even though it was nicotine free - was a great aid, and satisfied the cravings.

Vaping can be a brilliant way to quit, IF you use it wean yourself off nicotine. It's very obvious if you think about it - keep feeding yourself nicotine and you'll stay addicted to nicotine..

That's a good effort Jestar. I'm still a nico addict but have the firm conviction in me to quit.

Prompts me to order < 10 mg eliquid
