What do we think about Vega?

  • What has AMD been doing for the past 1-2 years?

  • It consumes how many watts and is how loud!!!

  • It is not that bad.

  • Want to buy but put off by pricing and warranty.

  • I will be buying one for sure (I own a Freesync monitor so have little choice).

  • Better red than dead.

Gibbo said that there's more stock available at that launch price.
Also, with the 64, the price went up within an hour of going on sale after the original stock sold out. Yes people did buy at a lower price and got cancelled, as they'd bought stock out of the allocated rebate ones.

not always, but the 64 had the same deal in place and is now listed as preorder, and we know there aren't any more of those available at this point

The 480 for 64 went up yesterday not Monday.
I don't get this crusade.
I'm not fan of the pricing, but I'm not going to make strawman arguments about it's higher up price

yes i got the days mixed up monday to tuesday, I don't see how that materially changes the situation, there were only a handful of cards available at that price yet its listed as pre-order still at the same price, if the original £450 cards sold out within minutes then surely the £480 must have sold out too? or are people not buying enough at £480 and that price is sill available?

I'm not saying they've definitely sold out, I'm just raising the question of if the original listing sold out then why wouldn't you think the 2nd round has also. Is asking simple questions now against forum rules or something?

not sure why people are getting so het up about it

my order is in process so i guess we will find out either way soon. the money from the bank has been taken.

Mine has shipped after I ordered last night. I am selling my 1080 as I have a Freesync screen and find the tearing much more noticeable now having either been spoilt by Freesync or it being more noticeable on a large screen.

couldn't live without a freesync screen now, only reason for waiting for vega to be fair.

Actually less than 480£ and is in stock at this moment ... https://www.overclockers.co.uk/pc-components/graphics-cards/amd/radeon-rx-vega-64 the 64 never got a pre order status at the 450£ price (unlike the current status of the 56)

The 56 are on pre order, and can be ordered at the said price and will be delivered the ETA is 1st of September, if the amount of pre orders exceeds the amount of GPU they are getting shipped (they know how many they are receiving) the GPU will go to an "out of stock" status and the price will be upped if they are not expecting any more launch price ones to come in. The case where the orders do not get honored is when they get sold out too quick and they didn't have time to put the out of stock status and up the price, it happens when things get sold out in minutes. But in the case of the 56 it has been available on pre order with and ETA for more than 24 hours now

Indeed, they went up at £469 / £479 etc yesterday, Gibbo did say in the original post re Tuesdays stock that they'd be this , not the £450. Is this OC UK adding a little on or AMD this time , who knows, the saga continues.

I've decided to wait for AIB's and see how the whole driver / prices settle down, maybe i'll miss out, given there seems to be lots of crash reports in the 64 thread, i'll take that risk.

mine shipping confo just came through, payed £380. just as a confimation for anybody still wondering about this.
