The Weekend Football Thread *spoilers*

This is a football thread, not any specific team, the only requirement seems to be that you have observed a game. Glory supporters do get on my **** yes! It was more of a comment to many around the world rather than anyone on here as it's not entirely possible to tell from a quick glance.

If I enrage a crybaby with my comment then all the better, but I'll stay out of posting here now I'm sure you'll be pleased to know, I gather the feeling fans outside the top 4 will have little to talk about in this thread anyway.

I apologise anyway and concede I didn't need to post in maybe quite a provocative style.

ashamed to be a United fan today, hats off to Leeds, not belittling them or anything but they needed that a hell of a lot more than we did and every loose ball, every challenge they proved that.

Untied can blame a long list of injuries, squad rotation and everything else under the sun for this and other poor performances this season but this game alone proves that heart can overpower talent, our weakest XI should be strong enough to beat any team from that division I dont care who you are.

I am perfectly willing to hold my hands up and say we were beaten fair and square, no bad decisions, no poor stoppage time, just a team that was indifferent versus one willing to bleed every minute.

Having said that, Gary Neville seems determined with every fibre of his being to outlast Giggs and Scholes yet already years more past it than either of them, why he is still included in the squad let alone team is beyond me. I like the guy and am grateful for everything he has done for us but he should know when to call it a day. Wes Brown put in a vintage performance today, haven;t seen him make those mistakes in a while, since back when he was gonna sign for the geordies. Only Rooney and perhaps Gibson looked like they wanted it today and when that happens with Wayne it always either goes 2 ways, he hits a screamer and drags us through by the scruff or he lets his frustration get the better of him.

Hats off to Leeds, savious every minute of it because you wont get another shot at us like that for a while, I just hope City dont roll us over, the United of not-very-old would have come off the back of this defeat sharper than ever, a point to prove and knock 6 past city without breaking a sweat I just cant see it in this team anymore, we need Rio back and fighting, Neville in the boardroom coaching kids and a lineup that is reliable and frequent otherwise we're looking at another barren period, I dont know how many more championship squads Fergie is capable of building.

Well the last few to do what you have done got suspended, so..

It's trolling when you never post here, and come to stir something up, which you just did by calling Utd fans glory hunters.

Cracking cup tie, Leeds probably deserved it overall.

Though if all Man United players had the desire of Rooney then it would have been a walk over for the homeside.

Fergie refuses to do a post match interview? Not bitter are we?

I'm not crying at all, have a look, I'm discussing the game and having banter with a few others.

Stay out of posting? I've never seen you post in here anyway

The defence DID need improving, I've just told you, O'shea not good enough, Brown injury and gaff prone and never available.

Out of that list, you've listed 3 players who are available and of the quality required and 2 youth players.

O shea is our versatile defender, he does his job well enough. Brown ya, agreed.

We definately need one or two new defenders next season though.

Frickin' brilliant result. Great play from Leeds, and some impressive persistance towards the end. Completely thrilling match.

edit: that toothless chap in the crowd at the end. :D

Absolutely crap as expected. If Fergie plays Neville again then he must have lost his mind, it was like having ten men on the pitch for the whole game. Just crap though, Fergie simply has to buy in January/get some coaches that can teach players to tackle, pass and shoot.

Did anyone else notice how ****-poor the commentary was today? I heard many snide petty remarks made about united.

Even though I'm a massive United fan, I find it really funny that many people would rather cheer and watch United than to cheer on their own team.
