The Witcher 2 - Thread

Where can I order that from? I have the premium edition pre ordered from Game atm for £25, I didnt see this CE with all the extra stuff before!

Oh never mind, I just saw the links on that site :)

No prices or pre order available yet :(

There's a collectors edition on Amazon for the sum of £70 if that's what your after.

£50 max for all that fancy stuff like the bust, dice and cards.

Looks like the only CEs I'm going to buy are GW2 and Skyrim.

Most collectable stuff that ships with games you look at once, then file away in the box never to look at again. If it's a decent sized art book, or a sountrack CD then that's worthwhile, but often the soundtrack is only part of what's produced and they release the full thing on iTunes after release, so you end up with only half a soundtrack.

Going on the first game's enhanced edition it'll probably be pretty good. That came with most of the recognisable ingame BGM, and also an inspired by album.

i gave The Witcher another good 2 hours tonight, and i have to say, i'm just not feeling it.
Is 2 a direct sequel?
Is it essential to play this first?

There are quite a few games i haven't played yet that i want to, not sure i'm really motivated to play The Witcher tbh when i haven't played Batman AA, AC Brotherhood,Crysis2 to the end, Metro 2033.

Like what everyone else has said. Wait till you get into the city and it becomes a lot less tedious. I hated it the first time I ever got it, then I purchased it in the steam sales and fell in love. I actually learnt how to do the combat and it was patched properly so was quite quick loading and there were little to no bugs.

I've been waiting to play my dusty copy of Assassins Creed : Brotherhood for a while. I think it will be epic, in every sense of the word, and a real time sink.

Not sure if you *have* to play the first Witcher (I suspect not), but the 2nd is a direct sequel.

I've got so much 'collectable' tat in my house that I'm reluctant to buy anything which includes more collectable stuff - I just don't have room to display it.

How many do you have? woud love to see a pic with them all in :) I only have a few, fallout 3, alan wake. Only got them because they were a few quid more.

Yeah, I've got that, and it's an excellent soundtrack, though sadly missing some of the best tracks from the game. Luckily all the in-game music is in ogg format so you can easily extract them from the game.

My comments were more a general rant about supposed soundtrack albums in collectors editions being little more than tasters for the itunes release a couple of days after release. EA are particularly bad for that.

I was just watching trailers on this and was also wondering whether it would be a good idea to play The Witcher 1 or wouldnt it matter?

Looks astonishing

it does doesnt it! :) ^^

EDIT: official boxart for the game! they changed the face!
