The Witcher 2 - Thread

Question 1: Is this being released on the 360?

If yes, then alarm bells WILL go off!

It's PC only. For a long time after The Witcher 1 was released they had plans to release that on the 360, but they abandoned the project, they were apparently unhappy with having to cut too many corners to make it work.

Amen!
In time they will succumb but for now we will rejoice in their defiance!

Yeah, I'm 99.9% sure too, I'm wondering if they cut any corners now in prep for a console release, as I've seen a few 360 buttons flash up on the screen during game footage.

I guess they wouldn't tell me in anyway :)

Pre-ordered from Amazon. Witcher 2 Premium Edition, great value imo as it is £24.99 and you get all of this with it:

Complete with a making of video DVD, official Witcher 2 soundtrack, world map, game guide, pamphlet and cursed coin and two very exclusive Papercraft characters

Really hyped for Witcher 2!!!

It likely supports a 360 controller, and it's much easier to demo a game using a wireless controller than using a mouse and keyboard.

I've pre-ordered the DRM free version from GOG, mainly to support DRM free downloads.

Quick question, as I understand you'll be able to import the save game from The Witcher 1,

Will it be possible to:

[Steam] Witcher 1 --> [Retail] Witcher 2 ?

should be able to. ive heard there is an option in the beginning of the game where you can tick boxes to choose some of your actions from the first. example whether you chose triss or shani.

I'm in two minds to how I get this game. Would love the CE retail as I got the original Witcher CE but buying from GOG would benefit the devs more I think and its DRM free....hmmm, decisions, decisions

i know what u mean :( it was either gog or steam for me. gog means all the money goes to the company but at the same time i would like all my games to be on 1 platform. but at the end i went for gog. a company that actually cares about its games plus no DRM of any sort :)

Big reminder!

First off, I thought the guy from GoG was great he just represented what GoG is all about, sound.

I was only mainly interested in one question, which I think would decide if this is more console orientated or not.

It is obvious that they have their minds set on releasing it on console, which means the engine mustn't be that advanced, which is a slight worry.

The minimum spec is dual core 2ghz, 2gb and a run of the mill graphics card, so kinda like most decent looking PC games now.

It's not all about looks obviously, and I don't know how it plays, I do know that there won't be a demo.

If you didn't already know, the only place you can get this DRM free is from GoG, and you get more extras then anywhere else, I think. I did inform them that their price seemed a bit steep considering you can get it for £6 cheaper elsewhere albeit with not as many extras+DRM and I think they took this on board, so the price might be reduced on GoG, I for one would prefer to buy the GoG version.

I think it will be mint, and if it does make it on consoles it will be more like the PC version of Dragon Age compared to the console version of Dragon Age (PC 10x better).

Roll on Mat 17th, oh and they are certain it will be May 17th!

Have you not seen the screenshots littering the web? Minimum spec is minimum, not for the best graphics quality.
