Not all that obvious. The game auto-patched to 1.1, but didn't to 1.2 or 1.3. Mighty confused me!
Starting chapter 2 now

I can't see a 1.1 -> 1.3 patch on their website.
well i've got the steam version of witcher 2 and when i boot the game up on 21th july launcher came up and switch to a auto updater program and update game to 1.3 so game didn't use steam update function as do all other steam games, like team fortress, just cause 2, bfbc2, mafia 2 etc. but still kick ass game. just taking a break as i manage to get to the end of chapter 1 in burning building and died on insane mode so couldn't reverd to earlir save.

The end of Chapter 1 is excellent - so many decisions, boss type fights. Very well put together

Anyone else had any trouble on the Quest where you have to make the potion Gadwall? Since installing patch 1.3 i can no longer make potions despite having the ingredients in abundance. tried going back a while in saves but i get the same result 
to me the patch has broken alchemy. Heres 2 pics.
as you can see the ingredients are there.

really annoyed now. you like chapter 2 roche path as you get to have some fun with ves plus i believe it slightly longer path than Iorveth path but i can't say for sure as i've haven't yet played Iorveth path i was on it when i was just about to complete chapter 1 on insane mode when i died trying to save some elfs but as it insane mode i got to start at the beginning again because of the save file lockout.

AM about to make my decision, think I will side with Roche for this playthrough.

I did the Roche playthrough first - my only real piece of advice is make sure you do an Iorveth one afterwards. It made me look at the story in a different light after finishing both sides.

Found the game slowly becoming laggy & stuttering as it ran well since I started so I checked the hardrive & I've never seen it so fragmented with bits of red everywhere, I set it to defrag & when I came back to check it had completed but said it was unable to defrag some files & showed a list & it was over 9gig of Witcher 2 files 
Needles to say I copied the saves & uninstalled it & it then it defragged properly & I've no idea why it spread all over my drive the way it did

No idea why that is happening, have you tried using different ingredients in each of the slots?

Gah im a dozy git! never considered that a small mod called "Panel Tweaks"

Unfortunately it also inhibited potion making in patch 1.3. As soon as i removed the mod it worked straght away.
is anyone having problems running this game i installed it yesterday brought it from steam and went to run the game now when i do auto detect settings to play the game it selects high graphics but when i run the game it doesnt run as smooth as it should.
my spec of my PC is listed in my sig i have also patched the game to 1.3 so any suggestion in what i could do to improve the game or if i need to upgrade anything i dont think i need to upgrade gpu as its a nvida gtx 580

Are you using 275.33 drivers? also disable ubersampling and both depth of field options.
yes am using the latest drivers and also i have made sure that is turned of i get 60fps to start of with and then it drops down to 30 - 40 ans maintains at that level its annoying cos even on lowest setting its wrong
what else could it be my cpu or memory ???????

Possibly* its the clock speed of your cpu..... I dont know who many cores the witcher 2 utilises, but im sure your 580's power will scale the higher you push your cpu.
