The Witcher 3 Benchmarks

Yeah that's with everything switched on and max settings for each. HBAO, Hairworks etc.

Seems fine, smooth, no drops. Hopefully it will keep getting better and better with updates / support from CDPR.

lol yeh right after most the benchmarks go out
GlobalOceanTesselationFactor
HairWorksAALevel

these the 2 big ones i think in rendering.ini
lots of tweakables in there tho

glad its working nicer for you! <3 im only lvl5 ingame thats pretty bad right? lol

Is that you Tom D :p

SS-89 has a nice sweetfx profile.

Try everything ultra then if it's dropping FPS, turn hairworks and foliage down.

yeh turn foliage draw distance down and set 8x tessellation in CCC, something nvida users cant do!? :p

should be good after that

:D

I know I know, I am too lazy to look back in this thread and the PC sub forum thread :o :p

Ok thanks, got a link to the sweetfx profile? :p

Thanks!

Wasn't there some tweak we had to do in the .ini files as well, a frame cap or something?

Playing this on my laptop and the patch has made frame rate a touch better.

Framerate now sits between 34-42 on Medium settings 1080p. Drops to about 29 for a brief second occasionally so Ive set max fps to 30.

High detail knocks about 10fps off me and barely looks any different.

Laptop has Geforce 870m .

Thanks mei, I will check that out later.

Everything turned to very max on my rig in sig

Will obviously need to drop the hair, foliage and whatever else. CPU usage is pretty low though.

greg dont b lazy go find a bear!
u tried messing with the texture sizes?
MaxTextureSize=3048
MaxAtlasTextureSize=3048
MaxCubeShadowSize=1024
MaxSpotShadowSize=1024

i play at 1080p so maybe i dont notice it so good :)
this game uses so little vram, needs a uber textures pack!

On a single card with the new patch I can get about 30-40 fps with ultra/Hairworks ON (HairMSAA 2x in cfg, Tesselation reduced to 16x in CCC) with foliage distance turned down to High.

With Hairworks turned off I get 35-50 fps depending on area but it seems all random which is strange. (maybe stuff is being loaded and unloaded into vram?)

Crossfire is not working correctly and appears to get 60 fps locked and then drops to 40fps randomly so I suspect if AMD can get a decent profile sorted I should be able to get 60fps locked on Ultra.

I read an article from the developers that a patch with 600 fixes is a week away with the graphical update
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2...he-witcher-3-graphics-downgrade-issue-head-on

Apologies if it's been posted already

Nah that was referring to today's patch. they've edited the article to reflect this. It's nice getting an official response from CDPR and I actually feel bad for talking trash about the graphics since it really is a great game. Time to try out this tesselation tweak on my AMD cards!

Matson, I added your sweetfx but it doesn't seem to work or have you changed the key which activates/disables it? I usually just keep it set to scroll lock.

Reduced settings, foliage to medium, hairworks, sharpening, chromatic, AA are off, FPS hovers round 45-50 now and it feels smooth for most of the time (frame latency of 15) but has awful stutter every now and then, the frame latency jumps to 35 :(

Also, I switch the game to full screen but it keeps going back to borderless window mode....

When you load up the game does it say sweet fx succeeded in the top left corner? that's how you will know it works. Its just a simple drag and drop with the files. Just drop them all in the same folder with the witcher 3 exe.
Plus I read that the one button press to activate it doesn't work at the moment with sweet fx so its on all the time.

Also one thing I would change is Lumasharpen in the sweet fx config. Set it to 0 as I think artificial sharpening looks bad and you can always use the in game sharpen setting if you want it a little more sharper.

Asked this in the Witcher 3 PC thread but thought it would be more appropriate here.

Keep getting stutters despite having 60fps. This is with 1.03, installed on SSD and:

i7 2700k @4.4ghz
8gb ram
AMD 290x
Windows 7 64bit

I also tried it with settings down to medium and vsync off, getting over 100 fps but it is so jerky and stuttery. I am getting great fps but it is not smooth :(

Still waiting on drivers from AMD (using 15.4), i thought this could be the problem but I checked task manager and:

U1dC4OJ.jpg

It is completely maxing out one core and the others are barely doing a thing. Is this causing my stutters and is there nothing I can do? Assuming this is a consequence of dx11 and I will just have to wait for dx12?
