The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

The "New" max settings are the old Max settings. The new options only allow you to lower things related to hairworks to make it easier for people to use.

After 3 hours with Afterburner open to graph FPS my minimum fps has dropped 20 overall, average dropped by 10.

This is with everything still maxed out. If I lower Hairworks preset to Low, and AA to X2 or X4 it makes no difference, except my Max FPS now has spikes into the 90s instead of 80s. Averages and minimums stay the same without getting better

How are you able to get average fps with Afterburner?

Good ole school math, take all the lows, and max spikes, and the same amount that are in the middle and work it out.

I was also mostly glued to the FPS in the top right of the my screen to see what's going on. Only areas my average FPS wasn't hovering around mid 60's was any swamp like area; then I get to enjoy low 40's.

Also if anyone is able to roll back to 1.06 it also means you lose the new Ciri alternative look DLC. It only installs with 1.07

EDIT: I rolled backed to 1.06 ( wasn't greyed out for me ), new saves are useless and no Ciri Armour DLC, but performance is great again.

I went to the same Spot in the swamp I was in last night and instead of my fps bouncing around in the 40's it was now in the mid 70s.
The spot is just south of Frischlow in Velen, there's a treasure and you can use the magic lamp; if anyone wants to head there.

Ah sorry didn't even notice that, greyed out for me as well.

Edit - oh wait got it, I tried disabling auto update and now the rollback option is no longer greyed out.

Excellent. Cheers mate. Will be sorry to miss the storage and movement tweaks but at least i won't get mega pop in and shadows going mental. Also like N19h7m4r3 says, performance was better before the patch.

iv benchmarked them all on my card on ultra for ppl to see the fps difference.

Are you still on driver 353.06? I ask because all the drivers after that don't have the Kepler performance fix in.

Not too much of a performance difference between Max and Low hairworks for you as well it seems. The max difference seemed to be 8 fps.

I see the game still doesn't use much VRAM, I do wish they'd allow people to use more to help reduce texture popin.

im actually using 353.30 where have you read that?

Folks if you're on 1.06 or rolled back to it but want the Ciri DLC armour this chap was kind enough to extract and upload the files. You just drop them in the BAM, Ciri in Zerrikanian armour is now and option in game.

Folks on the GeForce drivers forum went up in arms after updating from 353.06.

Played this on PS4 and got sick of it. Upgraded my PC recently to 970 GTX with an amazing Samsung curved monitor and paid a measly £15.79 for it! and WOW it is a different game(High Settings, Ultra drops below 30FPS on the odd occassion, High doesn't drop below 40FPS).

Game of the Year so far, loving everything about it, though I almost completed the relatively boring main mission on the PS4.

Main quest line buged out for me when i left an area half way through a quest to do some side stuff when i came back the quest was buged out, lost about 5 hours worth of side questing. not happy! Without giving anything away when you have to get in a boat with lambert dont leave the area..Otherwise lambert will go for a swim and not get in the ****ing boat until you reload before you left the ****ing area!

With 970 you should be getting 60+fps on mostly ultra settings, if you have decent CPU.

The patch has been great for me, no issues and all the improvements are brilliant, especially new movement and inventory and stash.

60+ at 3440x1440 with everything on ultra on a 970? There was me thinking davewhite04 was being a bit economical with his numbers lol.

2560x1080 here, everything on high, 50+ on a 970. That'll do me, no way i'd be seeing those numbers at 3440x1440 lol.

See that's what annoys me about forums. Posters talking absolute nonsense and making people think there's something up with their systems. I have to turn a few things to high to achieve +60fps and that's at 1080p.
