The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

60+ at 3440x1440 with everything on ultra on a 970? There was me thinking davewhite04 was being a bit economical with his numbers lol.

2560x1080 here, everything on high, 50+ on a 970. That'll do me, no way i'd be seeing those numbers at 3440x1440 lol.

See that's what annoys me about forums. Posters talking absolute nonsense and making people think there's something up with their systems. I have to turn a few things to high to achieve +60fps and that's at 1080p.

At Ultra 2560x1440 my averages are in the 70's with SLI 980Ti.

Dunno how people can get 50-60fps ultra with a single 970, is it a magical one?

Lots of benchmarks and reviews also showing a 980Ti/Titan X only get 60fps average at Ultra 1080p

Simple truth is, they aren't. They seem to think their £200 gpu is performing better than £600 gpu's.

There's a host of people on the CDPR forums with performance issues on the latest patch and then there are people like this....
Makes you wonder what they mean by 'charm'

a lot of these ppl don't even know what fraps is. trust me. no 970 can do ultra @60fps with everything turned on you get 40-49fps In most cases and most of that's in the lower end of the scale. that's why I took mine back and kept the 780 as I can turn off hairworks turn foliage to high and shadow to high and get 50-60fps all day long without much effect on pq.

I'm playing on 980ti at 2560*1440 and I have Everything turned up to Ultra, feels pretty smooth but I don't use anything to monitor the fps.
As long as it's not jerking about it's good for me! The last patch for me improves performance so much more than on 1.06 which felt like a bit of a backwards step from 1.05.

most things on ultra with shadows and something else on high, no hairworks 1200p, mostly stays at 30-40 fps. Think my cpu is becoming a bit of a bottleneck or this game doesnt like radeon! Sure i can get a bit higher with vsync disabled but hate tearing

I had the opposite 1.07 destroyed my fps. Might try it again later on, we'll see what the devs do as the forums over are still a buzz.

1080p 980ti here, everything cranked to max (no sharpness or hairworks) and never drop below 60fps. These cards just destroy games.

Do you just do Geralt's hair, or all?

And what AA? I'll toy around tonight.

I run every sitting at max, bar Sharpening. I have that on low.

Plus High sharpening gets turned to low curing dialogue and cutscenes anyway, and you can see it be reapplied afterwards.

I rolled back to patch 1.06 because 1.07 shaved 20 fps off my minimums, so Full Hairworks is x8 AA, and High Preset on patch 1.07

Hairworks only looks good on the Griffin Trophy.

I think it looks great everywhere. Especially on Bears and Wolf Packs.
On Horses and giants/cyclopses it looks almost like TressFX 1.0 from TombRaider.

FFS! GOG Galaxy updated itself today and turned on Auto Updating again, and it re-downloaded patch 1.07. I also don't have the option to even rollback to 1.06 again, there is no option to roll back at all.

Fps is still 20 lower than normal and had two Bluscreens, and 3 game crashes within 12 minutes of play. BSOD Video Scheduler Internal error. I've never had BSOD's on this system before, even with it running at 100% CPU for hours on end rendering work.

Plus I had that weird shadow bug, where everything is just entirely black if there's supposed to be a shadow.

Looks like I'll have to completely uninstall the game to see if I can get it back to 1.06 at least.

Fs.

Finally got around to trying 1.07. Half of my gear Geralt is equipped with is suddenly 1-2 levels higher than himself. So now I'm gimped. Looks like they messed with the level designations of gear :/

They upped all the level requirements of Witcher gear, Mastercrafted is now level 35 in Patch 1.07, so only useful for the final hour of the game. Another reason not to use 1.07 for me.

Also in 1.06 my encumbrance was 156/160, in 1.07 it's 167/160. Despite them making crafting reagents weigh nothing.

EDIT: I swear to the gods I want to strangle someone! I finally installed Witcher 3 manually again, and once again despite GOG Galaxy set to NOT auto update, it decides to start downloading patch 1.07 again...
had to abort it. Guess I won't be using Galaxy for a while.

EDIT 2: Got all the DLC installed including Ciri's despite them claiming it's only compatible with Patch 1.07. FPS is back to high 70's low 80's in Hierarch Square at mid day and massive crowds. Much better than high 50's and low 60s I had in 1.07/

^Cheers. That explains it.

My Geralt is now crippled and I cba to play for a bit as a result. Absolutely peeved off. My sword carries a Lv24 requirement and I'm Lv22, it'll take me ages to gain 2 levels.

Aside from being slightly encumbered it's a great patch for me. Running much smoother everywhere (very noticeable in Novigrad) along with inventory and movement improvements. I can understand why people are annoyed they can't use their equipment though, I guess it's just luck if you don't have to deal with that!

What the hell is going on... anyone else getting an issue where the menu screens are changing by themselves? Alchemy, Crafting, Inventory etc.... I click on say Alchemy, move the mouse down and it scrolls to something like Bestiary by itself... ? :(

EDIT: Looks like moving the mouse left and right is toggling screens... :S

EDIT2: AAAAHH Alternative movement mode breaks it. How annoying.

EDIT3: And this version is stopping my mouse macros working for some reason... any more than one keystroke doesn't work so I don't have insta-cast Quen anymore. :(
