The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Only problem I've had so far is that with the alternative movement style there is a chance when you use fast travel you get stuck in a auto run state the moment you arrive.

Also I think if you have the mastercrafted gear equipped prior to 1.07 then it's not an issue. I'm level 31 and I seem to be having no issues with combat, which would indicate that all my stats from my gear might still be relevant.

Bloody armour changed. My master crafted Ursine hear is now one level too high. I unequipped it for a second and I can't put it back on.

Haven't really noticed any difference to movement tbh.

With 970 you should be getting 60+fps on mostly ultra settings, if you have decent CPU.

The patch has been great for me, no issues and all the improvements are brilliant, especially new movement and inventory and stash.

I've got one of the original i7 920 cpu's,, and 12gb of standard speed memory. To be honest it looks gorgeous in anyway, but will tweak it a bit more if you think a 970 can handle it :)

Well this patch may of made a difference, got most setting ultra and set to on and it isn't dropping below 50FPS :)

2560x1080 here, everything on high, 50+ on a 970. That'll do me, no way i'd be seeing those numbers at 3440x1440 lol.

I have everything on ultra at this resolution, except hairworks.
Just have it forced at 35 FPS solid for frame times etc, it's been pretty smooth, and my GPU has some room to go.

But it's far far better than it was when I left the FPS dynamic.

Interesting discovery last night 1.07 had set my resolution to max (4K I think) after turning it down to 2560x1440 I got most if not all of my missing fps back. Now running upper 50's mostly on Ultra with 980 SLI. 1.07 patch was running at mid 40's!

Andi.

As i was only lvl 8 i didn't see too many issues with the new patch. I had to drop some bombs that were 0/2 because i couldn't craft any new ones as i apparently already had them.\

I wonder what will be included in the next patch.

a lot of these ppl don't even know what fraps is. trust me. no 970 can do ultra @60fps with everything turned on you get 40-49fps In most cases and most of that's in the lower end of the scale. that's why I took mine back and kept the 780 as I can turn off hairworks turn foliage to high and shadow to high and get 50-60fps all day long without much effect on pq.
Correct,

I had a 970 which overclocked like a dream 1575 odd & didn't get solid 60fps with everything maxed. There is no way a single 970 is getting 60fps @ 1440p with everything maxed.

I had to turn off hair-works, AA, grass distance to high & shadows to high to get a good 50 fps (60fps in area with less going on, 45 when it's very busy).

Great overclock I found it didn't make a massive difference in witcher overclocking. 970 is a great card btw just wasn't the step up I wanted

Fs.

Finally got around to trying 1.07. Half of my gear Geralt is equipped with is suddenly 1-2 levels higher than himself. So now I'm gimped. Looks like they messed with the level designations of gear :/

I had the same issue, ended up 'boxing' with a fantail thing.

60+ at 3440x1440 with everything on ultra on a 970? There was me thinking davewhite04 was being a bit economical with his numbers lol.

I was talking about 1080p.
I get 60fps in 1080p with ultra preset, foliage distance and shadows dropped to high, hairworks off (haven't tested the new hairworks options yet).

See that's what annoys me about forums. Posters talking absolute nonsense and making people think there's something up with their systems. I have to turn a few things to high to achieve +60fps and that's at 1080p.

I didn't say any nonsense, I agree with your settings, which is why I said "almost ultra".

No matter what I can't get decent FPS with Patch 1.07.

Even clean installing GeForce drivers again ( 353.06 ), or trying 353.38, and I can't get over 45fps in the bloody swamps with SLI 980Ti 1440p Ultra.

There's obviously something in that patch that's not playing nice with 980tis or SLI, as similar complaints on reddit and the CDPR forums. Never mind the sheer amount of game crashes.

Wen through the hassle of manually installing 1.06 again, and each DLC as well. Everything is honkydory again, and that same spot in the swamp is now in the 70's FPS wise. :/

I spoke to soon, yesterday I must have crashed at least 4-5 times and each time it locked my pc up and I had to press the reset button on the pc.

How do you get a game that works so well on release to break a little with each released patch? Surely it should be the other way round?

I've got a 980ti but I can't tell if it's the drive, patch or both which are the problem

I had the odd "this driver has stopped working" before on 1.06 but on 1.05 I had no crashes.

It's literally a mix between the game and the 353 series drivers from NVIDIA. Patch 1.07 was the first time ever on this system a game would lock up my machine, and on two occasions gave me a BSOD related to the graphics drivers not responding.
The New patch broke "something", and NVIDIA are still investigating why the Witcher 3 and their latest 353 drivers don't play along.

On a good note, the new Finisher Animations DLC is out, but it won't install on patch 1.06. So similar to the Ciri DLC, I'll need to search reddit for someone that uploaded the already installed DLC files, as you just put them in the DLC folder and everything works fine.

Any one on Patch 1.06 that wants the new Finishing Move DLC can get it here. Reddit has already delivered them. Just extract them into the DLC folder of the game and you're done.

Also I found an interesting post on Reddit about the game stuttering. Apparently the game only uses 1 CPU thread to help with asset streaming.

The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt\bin\config\base\gc.ini
Open that file
"; Number of threads the GC should be running on
NumThreads = 1"
Change 1 to 4
Save the file.

It's a config file for the asset streaming system of the game, it's set to only run on 1 CPU thread by default, increasing it should make a difference for the better, at least it did for me and i have an OCd hexa core Intel CPU.
Please don't buy into all this "CPU doesn't really matter" BS flying around.

So, are there are recognisable issues with 1.0.7?

I'm on it and have not had any problems? I'm still early in the game.
