The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Mine runs ok on high settings not checked the FPS but runs smooth enough. Dying a lot lately, not that far in any tips for fighting large groups?

The best tip I can give that I haven't seen online when fighting large groups of monsters (don't think this works on human enemies) is to equip your crossbow and shoot one of them from as large a range as you can (i.e. far enough away that the whole group doesn't automatically detect you for being too close) - the one monster should then come to fight you away from its friends. Simply repeat for any others in the group.

I generally don’t parry/block monsters, its possible (I’m sure I’ve done it) but it’s really hard to time properly and I’m not sure it works on every type.

It does work on most enemies but only with certain of their attacks. Generally speaking if a monsters attack looks like it's got some force behind it, more than just a standard attack, then it's not likely that you can parry it, example would be a drowners jumping attack. Almost all light standard attacks can be parried successfully though.

So I've just finished this. I did all of the side quests except the boxing, gwent and racing ones because they all seemed quite samey. Probably did roughly 50% of each. Took me 84 hours in total which seems quite quick compared to times of other people in this thread.

I was initially enthralled by Wither 3 and then went off it a bit midway. I think that was because I was overwhelmed by the sheer scale of it and the multitude of quests. I never seemed to be making any progress. However I figured out that my issue was that I needed to only play it when I had a good amount of time. Trying to play 30 mins here and there didn't allow me to get into it enough. Since then I have been absolutely loving it.

It's a truly epic game and well worth every penny spent on it. I can't wait for the Add on packs to be released now. Game of the year so far for me. Although Dying Light get's an honourable mention.

I've just finished this too. Probably over 100 hours, not really sure, the timer in the character page kept resetting for whatever reason!

I very much enjoyed this game! Not much in life these days holds my interest. Looking forward to the expansions. Don't think I'll do the NG+ though.

The last twenty minutes were a little bit intense to say the least but in the end I was happy with the ending I got.

Not sure what to play now. Got Arkham Knight which seems to run nice for me so maybe gice that a whirl.

Anyone play Witcher 2? How does that compare?

the last 20 mins are insane! loved witcher 3, best game ive played in a while, felt sad when i completed it, geralt is such a badass, last character I liked as much as him was prob kratos from god of war

Just got back into the witcher after taking a 2 month or so break and I'm really enjoying it, not sure why I stopped, will probably get the dlc when its out.

Just finished this. What a masterpiece! Its not without its faults but it puts all other games to shame really. Other developers will have a hard time trying to match it.

I feel a bit deflated now Ive finished it, I played nothing else for months. There are still a few places to discover in Skellige but seems a bit pointless as I will so out level them. I may do them when the expansion arrives.

Not sure what to play next.

Witcher 2 is also brilliant. If you enjoyed story and dialogues in TW3, you will also love Witcher 2, and quite possibly even Witcher 1, although it has a bit more rougher edges.

Started to play this, man this is a beautiful game. Out of curiosity, do you guys know the rune placements when holding tab? i normally have to flick through relatively fast reading the descriptions.

Do you guys do the same or just know what each runes do without reading etc? i suppose it'll just take a bit more time for me to get it down

I have an MMO7 RAT mouse and just mapped the signs to hat switch and thumb button. Hat switch press - dodge. You quickly remember what button gets you what! Beautiful. :)

Good idea! cheers mate i'll keep at it. out of curiosity during the start of the game, do you pick up every herb? there is a ridiculous amount when i'm moving from place to place, i could spend half a year picking them up! haha

You quickly pick up which herbs are common so after a while I just started collecting things less, instead grabbing the stuff I hadn't really seen much of when I could. :)

Must make some more time to play this again, I've had a bit of a break. :o

Exactly the same here, finished tonight and really sad its over, been all I've played for ages and not sure what to do now... Just such a fantastic game from start to finish.

Definitely purchasing the expansion pass, gonna get it direct from GoG as I feel bad about using a VPN for the main game (for the 1st time ever), just didn't realise how amazing and deserving of my money it was going to be.

Getting quite a lot of freezing and corruption during the cut scenes in the Wile of Mists main story. :o

They really need to make the sword stats a bit easier to understand.

I have swords with with lesser stats which are more expensive.

For example the Isle of Mists quests potentially gives you two swords. Both worth less than my current ones and both with less dps. However the other stats like critical damage bonus % etc are higher. It would be nice to be able to see the differences more clearly between the weapons.

Just picked up Witcher 2 Enhanced Edition for the princely sum of £3.11 :)

Enjoy. It is so damn good. Two playthroughs are mandatory too, because there are basically two games in one after the first chapter. I finished TW2 three times and plan to go fourth time next year :)
And then import into TW3 and replay it with expansions.
