The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

You can continue and it adds it to your quest log or you can start fresh on the hearts of stone addon with pre determined gear and level...

Does anyone know if you start a new game for Hearts of Stone or does it simply add the quests to your most recent save? I finished the base game a couple of months ago but still have all my saves (level 34 or something).

When you start the game you'll prompted with a screen detailing 3 main methods of how to play through the DLC. You can either just continue on with your current characters (...but you have to be/suggested Level 30+), start a new character that's automatically boosted straight to Level 30 with all the main quests completed so you can jump straight into the DLC + side quest,... or another option :p Can't remember.

The other option is to start from Scratch and it will become available when you hit lvl 30.

If you already have a lvl 30 character and save, then if you start that game it becomes a main quest for you to start on and play the Expansion.

Getting bored of CSGO, going to re download when I get home and pick the DLC up. Haven't done new game + yet but don't think I've got the heart to play through it all again totaling close to 100 hours.

Jumping straight into the DLC with my level 34 sounds good to me.

Loving the story too, more excellent work from CDPR! I paid about the price of a pint and already had 3hours out of it with loads left to do.

Kinda annoying when they fix one thing and break another. They fixed 'Reasons of state' failing when you start 'on thin ice' but it still showed as failed, so went back to a save just before starting 'on thin ice', did all that again and all good. Then on the very final quest 'faithful friend' fails for no reason.

Maybe I shouldn't care about having a failed quest in my log, but its kinda irritating.

Well...not sure it because I haven't played in a long time....but its a lot harder, or seems like it is.

But aside of that, I'm LOVING it.....the new story is really interesting and well....its more Witcher 3.....100% worth the £6/7 if you loved the rest of the game.

Bloody nora, bit of a performance hit, it's better looking. Although, might be placebo...

There are times my fps drops to mid 40's, unless I reduce the foliage distance from ultra to high. Then it's back to solid 60fps (with hairworks of course) on a 980ti @ 1080p... I've left the foliage distance to ultra, as the dips are few and far between. But annoying none the less.

The game, I'm LOVING it again. Just played all evening. It's great. I forgot how amazing it is.

However, ended up doing something sad tonight :(

I killed Keira Metz... She was going to sell the antidote and kill lots of people! And she used me. Then threatened me with telling Yen and Triss about our 'fun'. She had to go.

Anyone knows how to STOP gaining exp or at least stop levelling up?
Can't enjoy exploring knowing I will out level everything.

EDIT: Managed to do it after 3 hours. Should've done it 150 hours ago!

Is this still an issue?

I'm level 11, still exploring. Just finished the chain leading from the barren quest line and the tower of mice.

The main story... Found the dream walker, that's where I'm at.

I am now focusing on exploring, finishing all the '?'s I can before then tackling secondary quests and contracts. Then back to the main story.

I'm playing on deathmarch. Mobs level 10 are a little tough. Not hard, I'd equate it to Dark Souls difficulty. If you know how to tackle the enemy at hand, you're fine. If you slip up, it hurts.

I fought Jenny of the woods last night. Fun little contract. Although on Deathmarch we were even on levels. And she kicked my behind. Took a few attempts! I really should invest some points into magic trap. It can be very helpful.

Side note, the force spell, it's seriously over powered... Knock back, press X to instant kill, nothing can hurt you during the animation. I'm trying not to use it. But it's so handy when you've got 10 bandits on you and you want to dwindle the numbers quickly with little fuss.

Guys, hoping for some assistance here! My swords seem to have vanished

***Spoiler Alert***

Just before the Isle of Mists quest, and just after curing Uma with Yens help and I now have to set off from Kaer Morhen to pick up allies.

The only thing is, my swords have vanished! Since the night of drinking with the other Witchers, Geralt got up and got dressed but I can't find my swords anywhere :D
Any advice?

I'm unable to help mate, but if you use spoiler tags (such as
then with a \spoiler as the closing tag (still with the [xx] at the start and end of the tag. It does what I've done above.

Or simply click the 'SPOIL' speech bubble in the advanced reply box. Next to the youtube button. Highlight the test first.

Quiet odd, I recall I either had them in my Inventory or already equipped, one or the other. Maby try a prior save few steps back?

I still have a few unfinished side quests but discovered the DLC simply appears as a new quest in the original game, this means that you can still select unfinished side quests from the first game at any time & continue on those or go back & forth to the main quest at will.
If you selected to start a New Game+ then all that earlier stuff is gone.
