The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Hmmm just tried to re-use my SweetFX and it's giving me major graphical glitches at some parts of the map, with the new expansion :(

Nope, can't play it... Expansion has screwed my game up! Major artifacts, missing character bodies :(

I tried starting again but I'm not feeling it tbh. Combat has always been clunky, but I don't know if they have made changes but it seems worse to me now. Geralt is just so slow... Don't think I've fought anyone that hasn't got at least 3 shots in by the time Geralt has finished his silly pirouette!

Let me guess your on of those button smashers? U using pad or mouse keyboard?

I find the combat fluid and very rewarding playing on hardest difficulty

I play on DM difficulty, and I agree. Makes the game a lot more technical.

As for Pighardia, it's all timing based. I do agree, a swarm of enemies is cheap at times. But is you use knockback well and avoid attacks. You can start to dwindle the numbers.

I HATED the combat in the previous 2. This is perfect.

Huh, I noticed a few things not showing as well. Nothing crazy like that though.

In that part of the game, towards the mansion. I get major triangles, flipping textures etc. Signs of an overheating card ( It isn't ), however this is just starting the game and I played W3 perfectly, hours and hours to completion

Am I correct in thinking that you have to have completed the game once and then started NG+ to realistically be able to reach really high levels i.e. ~60?

No.

I found the combat acceptable on my first playthrough, when I was experiencing new things, but I am finding it tedious now. Geralt swings his sword so slowly, I don't know how he has survived in this world where everyone and everything else is quicker than him!

I think so, as the quests give you huge chunks of XP. But killing things gives a fraction. So killing things and doing '?s' alone will not net you levels. Maybe one level for every 10 levels questing I'd imagine.

So, realistically, NG+ is designed for 40+ levels I think.

Nice that there is now a difficulty modifier for Gwent. It can get bloody difficult though. Also in-game options for the dlc are welcome.

Has anyone tried the lighting mod on Nexus?...I think it is meant to use the lighting for cutscenes all of the time? It looks a bit of a hassle to me tbh.

I am trying the weather effects mod and it seems ok so far, though I can't really tell much difference.

Also, the Auto-loot mod is superb. Really eliminates the unnecessary loot pop-ups, especially for plants, which I would have thought they would have changed themselves really.

I was thinking abut this and the trophies are a disappointment in this game. I remember in Witcher 2 getting a trophy was a special event, it was exciting to see what new powers it would give you. In Witcher 3 the first trophy you get gives you 10% chance to dismember and, it seems, the only other power is 5% bonus XP (which no one wants).

Bit of a shame.

Yeah I agree, I think there were only three different types. I generally only used the dismember one, I certainly didn't want bonus XP as it was hard enough not to out level everything, and although I briefly used the bonus gold one I realised gold wasn't really an issue.

played the game when it first came out. Would anyone recommend a replay after these latest patches? Also worth buying the update?

If you enjoyed it then yes 100%. Very intriguing mini story with some great characters (new and old), they say it's 10hours worth of gameplay but I'd say more like 15+ easily unless you rush it which is a bargain for the price. Worth noting some people have been having issues with the latest patch but I haven't had a single problem, even runs better for me.

Same... Game has a lot better performance since patched... Played 14 hours straight yesterday and not one bug... Cant wait to start dlc..
