The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Still pretty new, any particular talent trees I should focus on?

I put a couple into the general ones, like +vita and +regen, the rest have so far gone into the quick attack sword as it seems to be the one I use the most at the moment (think it's on 4/5 just on the first tier).

A sign build gets very powerful. Full igni tree and stamina regen perks with medium armor is so good. Some people find it gets boring but I loved every minute of it. Once you've maxed the igni tree out you have a lot of flexibility in other signs too. Yrden is underused imo it's a very strong ability even before it's fully maxed.

Well its nice to come back to this game on my new PC running everything on Ultra and getting rock solid 60fps......now I can look forward to the Xpack on Tuesday :)

Game of the year so far for me, so very much looking forward to it.l

Absolutely, the fist time I've played a game of this type & not got fed up halfway through as I did with Witcher 2. Mind you seeing the women in skimpy undies helped a lot :p

Free DLC & forthcoming low priced expansion packs, other developers should learn from this

Just got this. Should I play I Witcher 1 & 2 first to understand the story ?

If you want to just pick it up and play you can; however if you want to craft your own experience of the Witcher with all the choices you make/don't make then play 1 and/or 2. Each save carries forward and can dictate what characters you (re)meet in the continuation. I couldn't get by with the original Witcher it just felt too buggy and combat was too annoying (getting killed by monsters in forced cutscenes took it's toll). The second one I played the hell out of and racked up many hours in - but looking forward to seeing if/how it affects 3 without starting at a "neutral" baseline.

After a 40 hour download of the original game, I managed to load the intro then it crashed, and now it won't even load... I get a black screen and a message saying "Display driver has stopped responding and has recovered"

R9 280
i5 750
4gb ram

I've read and tried loads of things to no avail. Any ideas?!

Latest AMD beta drivers don't work either...

Some mods are updated to 1.10. I suggest using Nexus Mod Manager (NMM) and checking for updates. It's easy to use. And you can see which causes the errors. Make sure to delete the files in the Witcher3/Mods folder and then use NMM

Performance is better for me on my 970gtx, it's more consistent/stable at holding 60fps. I did have a bug when first upgrading that Geralt's body and lets would disappear but this was resolved by verifying the integrity cache through steam.

Is there any sort of save editor out for this yet? I really wanna play the DLC (bought the Season Pass back when the game first came out), but I've lost my save (forgot to back up, and Galaxy is somewhat primitive in regards to essential features, e.g. cloud saves, etc.) Don't want to download some random save either 'cause I'm pretty fussy about that stuff :p

You dont have to download anything, the expansion comes with Geralt ready.

As long as there are brain dead idiots out there who pay £25+ for a handful of maps (I'm looking at you CoD) then companies will always do their best to rip the consumers off to the maximum.

Developers like CDPR are a rarity, don't expect all the big crap companies to turn good because of them. Also, in a few years, expect the fat grubby businessmen to gain shares of CDPR now they are getting big and expect them to become a terrible company like the rest as a result of the soulless suits meddling with the company.

It's life.

Yep I just had a look, awesome! Thanks for letting me know, was gonna put off the DLC for a couple o' years when I eventually come back and replay the entire game again :p Thought there was a level requirement, but apparently there's an option to boost your character to Level 30 and do the DLC off the bat.
