The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Eurogamer has a very cool article/interview with Andrzej Sapkowski, the author of the novels

I love the guy, he can come off as abrasive but when seeing him in person, he uses sarcasm a lot and is very funny, which translates well into the books.

I bet he is kicking himself for wanting the money upfront instead of royalties.

Just a quick question for anyone that has completed the game:

I have just done the epic battle with the wild hunt and am now in a quest with Ciri to find and kill the leader. I was under the impression I could go back and do other quests at some point after the isle of mists, but so far seem to have been locked into quests. After I do this can I still go back and mop up the side quests and contracts?

Also wondering when i should do the two dlc quests.

when you enter the isle of the mists you are told after you enter you can not turn back & no you cannot return Until you finish this portion of the game. once complete your free to explore. as the next DLC can do these after you finish the mists. if you wish. i would suggest 30+

HELP! I'm in love with 2 women and I don't know which one to choose!? I just know the time is coming and I have no idea what I'm going to do! The anxiety is more and more agonising the further I progress into the game and the more time I spend with one of them. My head is telling me to go with the softer option but how can I let a women like the other one go! Such an incredible dilemma. What to do, what to do!?...

Wow. The "Possesion" side quest.

Who's a child killer like me then?

Me too. Hym is such an interesting creature.

Witcher books have been blockbusters in central/eastern europe long before the games - in my country (Czechland) for example, I read the book saga in 1999. They were huge in Russia etc also. But games definitely made the books popular in the west.

You will still be able to travel the world later. But leave both expansions after the main game. They work better that way and Blood and Wine particularly is the series closer, so play it last.

When in doubt, think What Would Geralt Do ? Yennefer :)

+ On this one.. I can't stand Jennifer, inding her a pain in the backside. Plus Triss is a redhead as well ! :p

Yeah I don't rally appreciate Yen's attitude but she is just so hot. I want both of them damn it!

do not read on if you do not want spoilers. from W1/2/3

however triss has used geralt many times in past. including not telling him that he loved Yen after he lost his memory

she also
She used magic to make him think she was the sorceress he was in love with before he lost his memory.

So basically you could say that she kinda "raped" him with magic.

In the general over arching bits from the books Triss has always sort of had a thing for Geralt and in the Witcher 1 it generally feels as though that with his amnesia she finally has the opportunity to get what she has been after for so long. In one it is not so much that she is actively preventing Geralt from recovering his memory but that her help and advice is very heavily predicated on lies of omission. One of her big bits of advice is for Geralt to not blindly believe what people tell him about himself and while to some degree a perhaps useful idea fosters Triss's ability to manipulate him into the relationship she has long desired. Further one of the more important bits I found playing it again was the point in which she references the Djinn/Rinde incident carefully leaving very key and important elements out of what occurred there.

In two the con is beginning to fall apart and, rose of remembrance conspiracies aside, with the elven bath scene essentially the the culmination. Wanting to ensure the relationship before it can all fall apart Triss desperately tries to get Geralt to run off with her and leave the politics and other issues behind, largely as it seems the pursuit of these will undoubtedly bring about the destruction of their relationship, as they invariably do.

Essentially her not being completely truthful with Geralt leads to their time together at Foltest's court. If she had been completely honest or worked harder to pursue restoring Geralt's memory he would have most likely taken off looking for Yen sometime before the events of the Witcher 2 but instead she wanted him for herself and tried to keep it going as long as she possibly could.

I am so in love with this game. It's my first ever dabble with an RPG, well I guess Dying Light is somewhat of the same, but not as full blown. I'm about 40 hours in at the moment and only done 2 main quests till now (still in Velen).

Sadly I am on a 30 day holiday in South Africa and definitely missing the awesome atmosphere of this game.

Here's one guy wishing his holiday over and done with..
