The Witcher - Enhanced Edition

You can't deny though that this could have been averted with better planning. They could've mirrored it on Fileplanet, GamersHell, any number of places. They could've even distributed it via Bittorrent.

Surfer: Free or not this has been hyped up to an incredible degree since it was announced, I'm complaining. :p

Do they not require a wadful of dosh from CDProjeckt though? for hosting? I dunno how these things work...but yeah it could have been handled better..they'll learn. (hope they dont get a huge backlash on their forums about it though as that might just put them off doing this kind of thing again)

Bittorrent definitely doesn't and hosting on Rapidshare would cost them as little as €7 for the month (if not free, not sure what the difference is uploading on free and premium accounts). I don't know about Fileplanet and GamersHell but even indie developers and modders get their stuff hosted on there so it can't really cost much.

Nah, like Lysander said it'll blow over by the end of the day. Just annoying is all.

Can this be patch be applied to an unpatched retail copy. Just reinstalled it. Also what order do I need to install...Im hazarding a guess that I use the upgrade exe then the english lang patch.

The EE upgrade can be applied to all versions 1.0 to 1.3.

If it helps anyone, Softpedia have the English language pack hosted on their own secure mirror - downloads a hell of a lot faster than from that Polish rubbish.

Just wish somebody would upload the actual Enhanced Edition patch to one of the gaming newsgroups!

Hmmm i thought AOl had capped my speed again as im downloaing the last part of the patch from Rapideshare and its only downloading at 34kb/s, however just started to download the english lanugae patch from softpedia and am getting between 350-410kb/s

Softpedia

Which files?

The Witcher - Enhanced Edition English Bonus Pack 1.4 (1.19gig)
or

The Witcher - Enhanced Edition 1.4 (909mb)
and
The Witcher - Enhanced Edition English Language Pack 1.4 (457mb)

To install the patch you need :

The Witcher - Enhanced Edition 1.4 (909mb)
and
The Witcher - Enhanced Edition English Language Pack 1.4 (457mb)

The only one actually hosted on a decent softpedia server is the language patch, however. You'll still have a hell of a time getting the 1.4 patch to go with it.

Great  Purchased my game online and now the 'key' when entered into the registration box doesn't even register as valid because the Send button doesn't highlight.
I can't register my game. I bought the digital version from Metaboli and it only came with the serial number, which doesn't work for registering. When I go to register it, there's 5 fields to input the numbers and the fist is longer than the other 4, which means it requires more than 5 letters/numbers. The Serial key I got from Metaboli is also divided in 5 parts but they all have 5 letters/numbers. Obviously, it didn't work. EE is around the corner and I can't register the game even though I bought it!
Just for those who bought their game digitally via Gamesplanet.com or Metaboli. You'll have to get in touch with them to get a new CDKey I guess. I'm in that boat.

Watch with version you download and some don’t have the blood and adult content. The American patch have the stuff that make it an 18 like blood taken out/disabled.

The English and American patches are identical. The patch reads which CD key you're registered under and then locks [or unlocks] the adult content appropriately.
