***The X-Factor Thread - ALL X-Factor Related Stuff In Here***

Dani Minogue is the only judge who has been critical. The others have all be singing the praises of poor performances.
True that, I used to enjoy Simon's comments as a few series ago he would have ripped apart some of those acts. He's either gone tone deaf or he really doesn't care anymore... he looks bored. Hailing Cher and One Direction as 'the future of British pop music' was hilarious.

Just thought I would add my first ever comment to an Xfactor thread ever...

Matt from this years is probably the most talented singer I've heard in Xfactor history, If he conquers the nerves he'll walk this competition.

More talent than Leona Lewis?

Ah, I'll rephrase.

He's the most talented male singer Xfactor has had in my eyes. Also he's closer to the type of vocalist i could find myself listening to. Leona lewis is obviously talented but she's far removed from anything I would personally listen to.

The odds on one direction have tumbled in the last week. Did the first weeks voting get leaked? Their performance was actually quite bad.

Aiden went in the other direction whilst having the best performance last week.

For me, One Direction are without a doubt the worst act currently in xfactor. Its pretty obvious that they are kids who have been thrown together and told to sing.

SClub Juniors were younger, but they were better. These guys are just terrible. They will continue through the rounds though, simply because they are marketable and after a year of touring together, they should begin to gel and mature into decent singers. If they do continue after a year, I do expect at least one of the members to drop out and a expect at least one new replacement.

Music execs will look at the xfactor performances as training exercises for these boys.

It's funny hearing people talk about Cher as original, she sounds and looks like a bad Lady Sovereign impersonator. Her version of "hard knock life" was embarrassing next to Jay Z's and the whole VT with her sitting there putting the bits of paper together, did they think no one would remember his song?

We call her original because we haven't seen anyone like her on xfactor before. Obviously, in the wider (music) world, we do, but not on xfactor world.

If you compare her with the rest of the ballad heavy, 1 trick pony, soloists, you can then appreciate that she is original.

Although the painter/decorator undoubtedly has the best voice of this year's finalists, we have seen so many other soloists who also have great voices.

Cher doesn't have anywhere near the best voice. Everybody acknowledges this. However, for originality, especially at age 17, she is original - something which the painter/decorator is not.

And unlike anybody else who has been on X-Factor she has 'originality' running around her head and isn't having songs picked for her.
Cheryl seems to be letting her perform with her own ideas.
I'm quite impressed with Cher but I'd like to hit her across the face with a plank of wood.
