** THERMAL GRIZZLY - CHAMPIONSHIP THERMAL PASTE **

Just got two packets of the Kryonaut 1.5 mL straight from Roman. I will make a small comparison soon with some of the pastes I have here.

I should have opted in to get Kryonaut instead of Hydronaut seeing as I got a reply from Grizzly saying Kryonaut is the better option and nothing makes Hydronaut watercooling specific :(

I was waiting for the Hydronaut to come in to stock to use with my AIO

Instead of buying a new CPU cooler, I'm going to try this stuff instead.

Not sure which one to get though, either the aeronaut or kryonaut? Heatsink is gelid tranquillo rev. 2

Last time I did the thermal paste was when I first setup my gelid tranquillo rev. 2 back in December 2011 :p so I should see a nice improvement in temps (load is hitting about 80 atm)

Also going to get this:

Just went ahead and ordered the Kryonaut Paste and I already have Isopropyl Alcohol so didn't bother ordering that artic kit.

I'm expecting a decent drop in temps considering the last time I did this and the stuff I used was just some antec thermal paste :p

Well last night my CPU temps were hitting 84 degrees and tonight they aren't going past 62 :D Going to try and replace my thermal paste every 1-2 years now.

lol that's ridiculous. What paste were you using before? Obvious signs of degradation with time there but perhaps also a bad mount originally maybe?

Antec mx 2 or something like that iirc.

I think it was just degradation after 4 years lol, there was a decent bit of dust around the heatsink too. The temps definitely weren't that bad a few years ago and last time, I just applied a pea sized blob in the middle but this time I spread the paste across the entire CPU. I think I did a pretty crap job with applying it this time though, perhaps a bit too thick as well... but it will do for now :p

Going to try and get 4GHz from my i5-750 now.

The hydronaut seems to be working well for me.

My 980 used to hit 43 odd on water and that was during the winter, my Ti on water hasn't gone over 39 so far, maybe it's just the card though.
