Thief

you mean like being able to complete the game without having to steal anything - ehmmm - its called Thief
I forget the name, but there was a playstyle whereby you go through the complete Thief TDP and TMA without stealing anything except the mission critical loot, as well. If this has that ability, fair enough.

My sweet fx preset is here if anyone wants to use it, plenty of comparison shots. Would recommend using the full package rather than the settings files to make sure it works.

Click through to full resolution pictures as that is representative of what the difference is, for some reason the smaller comparison shots look darker than the full res ones!

Looks great however, your brightness is a little low for my taste.

Scratch that, if you click through to full resolution that is representative of what the difference is, for some reason the smaller comparison shots look darker than the full res ones.

Enjoying what I have played so far, though not being able to jump is just ridiculous!

I'm sorry what? You can't jump???? LOL!!!!

That screams 'on rails' to me.

Ah yes...

Well, I have done the first mission 'Lockdown', and if it is representative of the whole game, then most reviewers were far too harsh on this imo!...yes, it is needlessly restrictive in some places(jumping, using arrows in certain places for example), and the game is hardly flawless, but overall the stealth is very well done and the game is fun.

Agreed. Reminds me of ryse, both my friend and I bought it on sale with low expectations given the reviews but absolutely love it. Thief is the same, it has its flaws but is a good game.

Any chance of a link that works and is 64 bit please? Sorry to be a pain but that one wont work for me and I cant find a 64 bit version anywhere

Not sure whose kittens Square Enix killed recently, but this is decent (not outstanding).

They seem to have taken Deadly Shadows as the base to build on, rather than Thief 1/2 and that's a misstep.

The story is gibberish (but frankly it always was), the game play is workable.

Figured out I needed the efx extras for windows 8.1 and holy cow does that game look 100 Per cent better. Lazy work to ship it with washed out blacks when its so easy to touch it up. It looks so vibrant now

Well I couldn't wait and downloaded Spotflux VPN.

I'm a die hard Thief 2 fan and I'd rate this so far as well as Deadly Shadows. I can't explain the poor reviews - it's worth at least a 7 or 8/10 so far.

I'm just about to steal the jewellers original piece for those that are playing so obviously I am yet to experience the full game but so far I'm happy with it.

So 30 minutes into this game and every negative review I read was wrong. They were far too lenient, it's worse than awful.

This is turgid scripted muck.

In the old Thief games if you got detected it made your mission harder or you had to run and hide. In this excuse for a game the mission ends. I know it's the early missions but come on.

The guy cant even fall off the walls/planks/walkways. This alone tells you how utterly scripted and restrictive this game is.

Polar opposites then. :D
