Forgot to mention it was in Pakistan
It makes you appreciate that in the UK we have rules that most people follow.
One time a bus pulled up at a petrol station full of people, the bus driver pulls the keys out of the ignition and gives it the the attendant so he can undo the petrol cap, the bus is still running???? while the attendant is filling up the petrol the bus driver decides it's a good time to have a smoke!!!
Had a few close call when i was in The army.
Done two tours of Iraq - Op telic 7(royal scots) 2006 and 10 (2 royal welsh)2007
op telic 7 was nothing but 10 was pretty hairy.
The driver for our Warrior armored vehicle was killed from a sniper round to the face during a night op in Basra op telic 10 august 2007.We were outer cordon for our sister company who were doing a strike op.
Hot night, driver happened to have his hatch up a little as being right next to the engine it gets very hot so nobody could blame him.Our platoon commander had warned him to keep it shut a week or so before.
Got word to move off after being static for 10 mins or so.Driver never responded on the net and us dismounts were told to go see what was wrong (we all thought he had dozed off)Seen that he was dead and got on the net.Spent the next few minutes trying to get his body out but being a big 18 stone lad it was pretty hard. His boots were also stuck under the pedals in the driver hatch.Had to get reme to drag warrior back to Basrah palace as we never got him out as we were under heavy small arms fire.
Vehicle started burning as his feet were under brakes, had to stop to put out fire this time when we dismounted we didn't have rounds pinging off the warrior.
We got back and us private soldiers got told to get cleaned up as few of us were covered in blood.I believe our snco's had to break his legs with a sledgehammer.
We got told our warrior would be steam cleaned but it was not so we had to clean it up the best we could with water etc.For the rest of the tour (2/3 months) we had to put up with the smell of stale blood. We spend days cleaning it out but never could get rid of the smell.
When walking around Brighton one night I passed an alleyway and saw what can only be described as one man bumming another man. I yelled something then ran off.
