This Instant And Moment - 2024!

I remember picos de europa.. and people seemed enamoured by kalimotxo.

kalimotxo is a cocktail of red wine and coca cola. Together. In one glass.
I have more than one friend who drinks this as their standard night out mix.

And why not! Sugary coke hides the taste of bad wine, and it's adding caffeine to your booze!

Upgraded from a 1TB to a 4TB OS/game drive, and also jumped to Win11. That feel when you install like 10 hefty games, and it's barely 20% full :D

On the Win11 front though, I've literally scream ranted to myself about the asinine decisions software developers continue to make. It really, really annoys me when they remove good features, and MS are repeat culprits of this. Where are my start menu groupable shortcut tiles like Win10? What is this utterly pointless new right click menu (easily disabled, but still)? Why is my Windows user folder name truncated because I logged in with your stupid mandatory MS account requirement (didn't know about the workaround of using a burner email to create a local user till afterwards)?

Not really the thread for it but yeah the execution is terrible, if it was my work I'd hang my head in shame but I don't think anyone working on Windows development has any pride in their work, not in a long time.

@Smeghead tell me more about disabling the stupid right click menu.

When I last looked it involved messing with the registry and didn’t fancy trying that on a work laptop!

You have to change a registry key to revert it to sensible functionality - goodness knows how long that will continue to work though, same with some of the other things like OneDrive integration.

Annoyingly MS will default some of these after some updates as well...

I'm not sure if the developers are mindlessly stupid or intentionally being obnoxious, neither is good.

Operating system developers are seen as being the navvy of the software world. No body loves an operating system, everyone complains why the have to expend effort with their software and then they're treated like slaves by the 'creative' UI folks only to have their designs and 'constructions of beauty' ripped apart or patched over by the cybersecurity as they loose track of the real word :D

Setting up my Windows laptop this afternoon. First time I've had a Windows machine since 2022 so I'm a bit out of the loop. I'm pretty sure my Windows 10 Pro key can be used to upgrade from Windows 11 Home to Windows 11 Pro.

Yeah it involved changing the registry. Technically it was more a command line to run that I found from Google, but it essentially created a registry key entry all the same.

Gobsmacked at the stupidity of what I've just seen on deal or no deal.

American woman, has a great game and is left with 2 boxes, 5k and 100k. The banker offers her £59k. She says no deal and has £5k in her box.

In what world would you risk £54k on an even money shot to win another £46k? It’s like going into a casino and slamming £54k down on black. Wouldn’t happen.

Are all Americans either this stupid or just plain nuts?

I don't watch DoND so do you mean she chose the wrong box and ended up winning £5k?
there were two boxes left at the end, hers and another contestants. One had the £5k another one had the £100k. No one knows what's in the boxes until they are opened. The banker offered her £59k guaranteed to walk away instead of taking the chance to win whatever was in her box. She decided to reject the £59k and take the chance. Her box was the one with only £5k in it, so she dropped £54k.
